Color

This month our colors are as earthy and fun as our destination--burgundy, moss, and brown with a touch of bright blue and pink for contrast.

Theme

Get a little edgy with us as we visit the birthplace of grunge and the grande.  Take a bit of a risk and show us your harder edges.

Technique

Grunge it up--black ink, sanding, be rough and get a bit down and dirty with your scrapping.

Card

Creating St. Patrick's Day and Easter cards will have you ready for spring's holidays.

Altered item

We are exploding onto the scene with the exploding photo box.  Click for the class!

Seattle Center Kit

We grabbed Fancy Pants 6 Claire de Lune papers and the entire set of their matching ribbon and paired it with 6 sheets of Cherry Arte's Classic Coffee papers.  We tossed in a page of Cherry Arte's white chipboard letters, too. All for only $15!

 Seattle Center

What do you think of when you hear Seattle?  The birthplace of grunge music, Starbucks, and the setting of tv favorite Grey's Anatomy, Seattle is also knows as the Emerald City for it's lush greenery and dedication to conservation.  This month we are hanging out in the Seattle Center, the cultural and entertainment campus built in 1962 for the Seattle World's Fair. The World's Fair helped to transform Seattle from a rather provincial backwater into a genuinely cosmopolitan port city, and it created a lasting legacy of important civic buildings for the arts, professional sports, and major community events.

The Center includes the Space Needle, Seattle's most recognizable landmark.  "The Needle", dates from the 1962 Century 21 Exposition. Contrary to popular belief, the Space Needle is neither the tallest structure in Seattle nor is it in Downtown. It stands in Seattle Center along the monorail which can quickly transport us to Westlake Center for some shopping.

Most of the time you will find us in the Northwest Craft Center.  When we are not scrapping, we plan to walk the sculpture garden, spend an afternoon at the Fun Forest amusement park.  We will certainly make time to see a performance by the Pacific Northwest Ballet and check out the Experience Music Project.  So many fun things to do while we visit Seattle Center.

Grab a Grande and join us for a month in Seattle's cultural hotspot!

Guest Street Artist

Nicole Martel

Do you hear me screaming! I'm totally thrilled to be the guest designer this month! It is going to be a great month, I can honestly say that. My name is Nicole Martel, And I am married with no children at the moment. I have been scrapping for about 7 yrs now! I got started when my mom asked me to attend a Creative Memories class.... I laughed at her! Just the thought was insane... me scrap? no way! Well jeez, after the first class, I got hooked! Got tired of stickers and punches and found other scrap stores... I discovered this site in August 2006 through Scrap submit. Can't wait to inspire you  to scrap outside the box this month!
