Moments.
It is all about the moments for me at this time of year. Autumn is upon us and it is in these mellow months that I steal little moments to myself during my schooltrips. Driving down our little
lane I can see the grape vines next to the river hanging heavy with grapes that are soon to be harvested. Their leaves already beginning to turn to gold and
brown. The morning sun causing pockets of mist to hover above the earth. This is the time when red squirrels dart across the lane as they begin the last weeks of
stashing away their food for the winter.
It is the time I gather memories of mellow days, the scent of wood smoke, the crunch of leaves and the last warmth of the
sun, these are what will see me through the damp and dark days of winter, which is not my favorite time of year at all!
Many of you will be gathering in your own memories of these months, with apple picking, hay rides, raking leaves and Halloween fun! Followed
with Thanksgiving for you in the States and then the Christmas holidays and other festive celebrations. Perhaps we all quietly take stock of
these little moments within the big ones. The little moments that flood the senses, taking pictures with our mind's eye to store away for a needful day or to ponder over on a dark evening.
It is important amongst the hustle and bustle of daily life and the many festive activities to come to just take a moment! Just breathe it all in
and file it away. These little moments are the seeds of memories for future years. We can scrap and journal them in our own time, for those quiet little moments are just as
precious as the big moments in our lives. So I challenge you to take a moment for yourself and revel in it and lock it away until you need a moment...
Thank you for sharing our moments this year at ScrapStreet and we wish you all a safe and happy festive season and look forward to a new year with you all.
