The Showroom

  Michelle Boeckerman

Each month the ScrapStreet Pit Crew is given the opportunity to work with designer paper and embellishment lines. This month we were given gorgeous papers and embellishments from Cosmo Cricket. Their lines of papers come with a warm feeling, and a bit of nostalgic flair. I found them very easy to work with, and even using one line you can end up with several different looks. Mixing and matching their lines was just an added bonus of a well-designed line. When you buy a set of papers, and it is clearly easy to create beautiful projects with it, you know that company and the designers are on top of what we want and like as artists.

Editor’s note: Mireille has a wonderful way of exploring new ways to make layouts pop out and become true works of art. The ribbon is truly unique and brings texture and warmth to a fun layout.

QT by Mireille Divjak. Supplies: Papers: Cosmo Cricket, Other: Ribbon, fabric, eyelets.

Design notes: The yummy textures of the Dutch girl line just made this layout come together so easily. The only touch that I added other than journaling is sanding, to bring just a bit more texture to the layout. There is so much to like about Cosmo Cricket…and their Dutch girl line is by far my favorite line! The textures in the papers are so rich and fun! The paper itself is the perfect weight…and the white core is perfect for tearing. The naked chipboard is so fun, “dressed or un-dressed” it is adorable on any creation. If you haven’t had a chance to pick up this line, run out and get it…you will love it!

May you always Smile by Jennifer Wuthrich.  Supplies: Paper and Chipboard: Cosmo Cricket, Ribbon: Cosmo Cricket, Button: Sweetwater, Font: Haettenschweiler,  Program: Photoshop.

Journaling: I captured you today just watching all of the simple things going on in the neighborhood! You had such a sweet smile on your face. It made me think of all the simple things that I am missing each day! I hope you always keep your childhood curiosity...and always remember to enjoy life's simple moments. 8/07

Design Notes: I was introduced to Cosmo Cricket earlier this year and, ever since, I haven't been able to get enough the products! I find I can use Cosmo Cricket for so many projects, themes and subjects - versatility is one of its most attractive attributes. In this case, the story to tell was written in my kids' faces: I was able to use Cosmo Cricket's colors, patterns, and sticker and rub-on words to enhance the story, without detracting from the photos themselves. It's just so easy to work with!

Dream - Family - Love by Lindsey Krauss. Supplies: Paper, Cardstock, Stickers, Rubons, Chipboard: Cosmo Cricket, Punches: Marvy Uchida heart, McGill Craftivity star, Photo editing: OptikVerve Labs.
