How to Create a Quick Page

This month we’re going to learn how to create a .png quick page. If we create a .png format quick page, then when you’re ready to scrap the page, all you have to do is slide your photo into the right spot below the quick page layer and you’re done! We’re going to create a 4” x 6” quick page that is easy to email, or print out.

This is the page we are going to make today.  Ready?

Start by opening a new document, 4” tall by 6” wide.

Open the paper you’d like to use and resize it to 6” x 6.”

Decide where you want to place your photo and using the rectangle marquee tool, draw the space for your photo. You should see the marching ants around your photo space.

Click on the layer with your background paper and then delete the pixels within the photo space. You can do this by clicking on Edit-Cut or by simply hitting the delete button on your keyboard. Save your file as a .png file and you’ve got your basic quick page done.

Now all that’s left is to embellish as usual. I have a hard time scrapping an empty space, so if you find it easier, slide a photo into your space, resize appropriately, and change the layer order so that the photo is on the bottom.

Once you have the knack of it, you can quickly create whole albums!
