Meeting Emily Adams

Eva and I didn’t plan our classes too well. We forgot to plan lunch in-between so after Dyan’s class we met in the hallway and basically ate as fast as we could before we ran into Emily’s class. We were totally stressed out that we were going to be late for this one. It was our first class together today and totally happy because of that.
We sat in the front and relaxed. I have to tell you that in the hectic of this day walking into Emily’s classroom was like walking into an oasis of rest.
The atmosphere was totally relaxed so we calmed down within seconds. This class was so great after lunch.
In front of us was our class kit with Emily’s own line Circus Rose (playlist collection). I had to check it out right away because so far I had only seen it online.
I love being able to check stuff out online but nothing beats holding it in your hands and feeling the texture of it.
I really loved this line. I had never ever done a “music” layout although music is such an important thing in my life (and I bet in your life too!)
Apart from that, I hardly ever scrap “me”. So this was a double “first timer”.
Emily was friendly and relaxed. She gave us great tips about what to do with “typical” paper. (Like the red paper with the dancing lady on it). For example, we made little slits next to her legs so we could weave some patterned paper through it. Emily also was a co-writer for the book “Oodles of Doodles”. She taught us about doodling and challenged us to doodle on our projects.
What I loved most about her class was the perfect amount of instruction/ tips for our project and the tons of freedom we got to “do our own thing”.
Really really loved it.
In the mean time she entertained us with a story of her trip to Amsterdam the other day and I seriously was sad I never met her before. Would have LOVED to show her around this great city and show her some awesome artwork.
Love the doodling, the art… all the fun stuff. (Have you ever thought of doodled crocs?). With all this doodling I was pretty amazed she had never seen my favorite doodle pen (Sakura Glaze) so I gave her mine and then Eva took this fun pic!

Every time I look at this picture I have to smile so much! Reminds me of a very fun class with a very fun lady!

And this was the project:

I doodled around the edges of the photo mats and I wrote down my favorite bands/ singers in the dancing lady. I really hope this will inspire you to do a page about “you and/or music”.
Just in case your curious and can’t read it:
1. Child in time- Deep Purple
2. Relax Max- Dinah Washington
3. In a gadda da vida- Iron Butterfly
4. Forest – The Cure
5. Nobody’s wife- Anouk
6. Feeling Good – Nina Simone
7. July Morning – Uriah Heep
8. Foxy Lady – Jimi Hendrix
9. Sympathy for the devil – Rolling stones
10. Respect – Aretha Franklin
I doodled around the edges of the photo mats and I wrote down my favorite bands/ singers in the Dancing lady.
I really hope this will inspire you to do a page about “you and/or music”
Have fun creating and I will see you next month for the 4th and final part of the “scrap-a-ganza”.
