Deep Paint Software Reivew

Deep Paint is another completely free software package. It is much larger than Art Rage, which was reviewed in last month’s magazine. Deep Paint (55mb) is for more complex drawing and painting efforts and as such is more complicated and similar in structure to Photoshop. Brushes are plentiful as are textures to apply to the canvas and the brushes themselves. You can also clone parts of your picture and use it as a brush. (This has been complicated for me to use, but with perseverance I will get the hang as I am sure you will too.)

The layout of software is similar to Photoshop. As with the best of free software you can save in different formats such as png, tiff, jpeg, as well as others.

Once you have mastered the layout of the screen, you can play with only a few settings, but one of the things that impressed me was that you can load png’s, jpegs directly as textures or brushes which is very handy.

Deep Paint supports layers and many features that you might find in expensive software.

I think really I have only scratched the surface with this program and I am impressed and am going to play with it for longer and hopefully report back to you with what I have found it can do. If I was looking for a complex piece of drawing and painting kit then I would definitely download this free software and work it death.

Join us next month for a peek at another digital program!
