Overhaul Alley

 Christa Parker

I’m one of those who love Halloween. Maybe it stems from the fond and fun memories of running house to house in our neighborhood gathering treats to later dump in the middle of the living room floor to “sort” and trade with my siblings. Maybe it’s the cool fall nights and brilliant fall colors that make me want to decorate the house with pumpkins and gourds. Or maybe it’s the excitement I see in my children’s eyes as the costumes come to life and the night draws near. In any case, my creative juices start to flow and I find myself turning the most ordinary items into ghastly and ghostly treasures. The following page may spark your imagination this Halloween to create that special something to give away or to keep for yourself. Take a moment and see what simple household item can become with just a little “magic” and your imagination.

Editor’s notes: Take recycling to the next level! Re-purpose those cappuccino bottles for holiday treats using bright fun colors and seasonal motifs.
