Scenes of Fall

 Lindsay Krauss

Now let’s venture out from the backyard into some other Autumn locations. What does Autumn make you think of? Halloween? Apple orchards? Fall colors? Pumpkins? Well, that’s where we’re going now! We may all have monsters all year long, but how cute are Angela’s kids in their monster tees? Lucy is going to take us apple picking and then Nancy is going to show us how to use those reds in a pretty fall sitting.

Editor’s Notes: Take a look at Angela’s color choice on this page. If you’re a little bright-color-phobic (like me!) here are a few pointers. Take the smallest amount of bright color from your photograph and use it as background paper. Then use bold shapes, linear pieces of paper and large running titles in contrasting bright colors around your photo(s). The end result is photographs that pop off the page, and colors that do, too!

My Little Monsters by Angela Prieto. Supplies: Papers: Doodlebug, Cardstock: Die Cuts With A View, Cardstock stickers: Doodlebug, Flowers: Doodlebug, Queen & Co., Printed chipboard embellishments: Doodlebug, Chipboard letters: Heidi Swapp, Brads: Making Memories, Die Cuts With A View, Ink: Color Box, Stamps: Sassafras Lass, Pen: Slick Writer.

Apple Picking by Lucy Chesna. Supplies: Paper: Foof a la, Cardstock: Bazzill, Chipboard: Heidi Swapp, Mesh: Magic mesh, Other: rickrack, ribbon, apple die cuts.

Design notes: I paper pieced the apple in the layout and used my scraps to make this layout. I used foam dots to raise the circle picture in the middle to give dimension.

Editor’s Notes: Be a fan of those two-pagers! There isn’t a much better way to showcase all of those fun apple-picking, pumpkin-picking, autumn-holding photos that to spread them out on a two pager and embellish around. Lucy even embellishes with photos!

Editor’s Notes: Nancy does an amazing job with this autumn-colored page. She takes those candy-apple reds and red-oranges and uses them almost monochromatically to give the feel and ambience of a fall photo sitting.

Sittin' Pretty by Nancy Jones. Supplies: Paper: Crate, Chipboard: Fancy Pants, Chipboard: Making Memories, BasicGrey, Dabbers: Ranger, Paints: Making Memories, Ink: Clearsnap, Pens: Zig, Stickers: Paper Studios, Pressed Petals Letters.

Design notes: I used pop dots under some of the flowers to add dimension to the page.
