Highway Help

 Aunt Digi

Hello my little loves, Auntie Digi here again. The months are passing so quickly now and I have been finding the evenings and mornings a little chilly. In fact just between you and I, my thermals have come out of the chest and my woolly bedsocks are hanging on the bed post, ready for those chilly nights!!

So what questions have you been hankering to know the answers t, my dearies? We seem to have been asked several times about brushes, so as it is Halloween month we thought we would get those brushes out and shake the cobwebs off… but keep them to decorate your pumpkins with!! So especially for Brushed Off from New York…

I have a separate folder for brushes, etc. I use Photoshop CS and all I do is select the brush I want, drag and drop into PhotoShop. Now, how do I take it back out again? What do I do to get other brushes back into my Photoshop… help!

Click on your brush icon at the top left of the screen, (the down arrow to display your brushes.) Click on the sideways pointing arrow at the top of the brush selection menu. You will see a list of options to create new brush presets, load, save, replace, etc., and the preset manager.

If you want to reset your brushes to the PS default, then select Reset brushes.

If you want to load (i.e., add to the current set) more brushes, select that option and you will be offered the folder selection menu. This is where you can call up those brush folders outside of PS and you will also be given the list of the brushes in your PS preset folder.

If you want to replace the current brush set with another one, then select replace and again navigate to the folder where your brushes are stored, or select from the preset folder list.

If you have created or changed your brushes then you can go to the save option and then name and save.

There that should get your brushes fairly moving!! Now dearies, do heed Auntie Digi here. Don’t store all your brushes in your PS presets folder. Really, I know how addictive this brush collecting becomes, but trust me all that will happen is it will take longer to load Photoshop (and similar software).

Plop a new folder into your scrapping folders and call it something suitable. Then you can plonk the new ones you make and the ones you download in there. Create other folders by brush artist so you know who give credit to. All will be tidy then.

That’s it for now my dearies, got to go chop a little wood for the stove and drag the cauldron out… Happy Hauntings. Keep those questions coming now…
