This month we have
an article called Awareness by Jennifer Wuthrich
which really touched me. It offers a wonderful
reminder about Breast Cancer Awareness month and the
importance of taking care of ourselves and each
other. But in it, I saw more.
Struck by the
powerful title, I am awed to realize that scrapping
has given me Awareness. I am quite certain
that my 20's were fabulous, but they are also a bit
of a blur. Before you tell me that time,
pregnancy, and cocktails (although not together!)
erased them from my mind, keep on reading. I
do remember lots of powerful moments,
accomplishments, catastrophes, and triumphs.
Although memorable, it was an undocumented and far
less examined period of life. Scrapping allows
me to be so much more aware of my world. The
gift of awareness is one that we can all treasure.
The message of the
creations featured in Jen's article also touched my
heart. Hope and celebration. What a
combination. How often do we remember to
attack life hoping for the best instead of preparing
for the worst? How often do we remember to
celebrate not just the birthdays and holidays, but
all of those little everyday moments? I am
certain we can all find something special to
celebrate today. Time for me to run to the
kitchen--I am going to bake a cake and eat it too!
Join me?
Celebrate October!
