Hi again and welcome to another new month. Are you getting ready for a pooky October? First let’s recap September on the streets.
September was an extra important month for us because it marked the second anniversary of ScrapStreet’s existence…YAY! We, of course, had to celebrate with an exciting anniversary crop weekend. There were even more challenges than usual and lots of games to keep us busy…including an EVIL lemon hunt. My eyes are STILL burning from that one. Several people walked away with a prize, but it was Amber who was our big crop winner…WTG, Amber!! A special thanks goes out to Dora for giving us such a cool place to hang out. We love you, Dora!!
September was also the beginning of our Holiday HoHoHodown. Last month was all about card-making and this month we’ll be starting on some of those homemade gifts. A big thanks to Meesh for getting us started early this year. If you haven’t jumped in yet, head on down to the Promenade and get busy. You don’t want Christmas sneakin’ up on you, do ya?
We started a new Self Improvement Plan last month too…or SIP for short. Need to lose a bit of weight? Maybe eat healthier or exercise more? Need to reconnect with your girly side? Or maybe you need to work on organization or some other part of your life. Whatever it is, come on down and we promise to give you an extra nudge in the right direction.
Time for Resident of the Month:
Our featured resident this month was a self-proclaimed lurker for quite a while before she introduced herself. Back then she made the statement that she was shy and “not a great contributor” to boards. A couple months later, she started posting and never stopped. With her friendly responses, giggly comments, and fun stories, she’s managed to rack up 4000 posts in just under 9 months. While her posts sometimes leave us scratching our heads and heading over to the dictionary thread, we love that she brings a fun and unique personality to our streets. She is SUCH a talented scrapper and a huge asset as our digi team leader. You’ve probably guessed by now that October’s honored resident is indeed KATEY! Be sure to take a minute and let her know how really glad we are that she decided to stop being a lurker and started being a full-time scrapstreet gal.

Time for Jakey's
Corner:
Hi there, scrapstreet! I’m so excited that it’s October ‘cause October is VERY pooky! I went to Wal-Mart with Aunt Woey the other day and I saw lots and lots of pooky monster masks and pumpkins. But most of it was just FUNNY-pooky so I didn’t mind too much. Also saw some nassy buggies there. I heard that a bunch of you girls think they are NUMMY?!?!? *shaking head sadly* I think your mommies must not have given you enough candy or marlellows when you were little and you just don’t know the difference between nummy and nassy.

I also heard that Leigh likes to work with cheerleaders. It’s hard work, isn’t it. I know ‘cause I am sorta like Aunt Woey’s cheerleader. I’m always telling her “good JOB, Woey!” when she does chores and stuff...just another way I help out around here.
I liked seeing the pictures of Lindsey’s little boy, Matthew, after he dressed himself. Aunt Woey laughed but I thought he looked perfectly normal. Aunt Woey is sorta picky about my clothes. I don’t know why she’s like that. What’s so bad about wearing a blue striped shirt, orange and yellow swimming trunks and brown dress shoes all at the same time? But she said my outfits usually look more like COSTUMES…geesh.
Ohhh...speaking of costumes, I can’t WAIT to see all the fun Halloween pictures you all will be posting. What are your kids gonna be? I was Superman last year…thinking maybe Spiderman this year…FUN!
Gotta go now…it’s time for the kids to get home from school. That’s my favorite time of day, but Aunt Woey always says that’s her HEADACHE time. *blows kisses* Bye-bye ‘til next time!!
Things we learned last month:
1. Betty has a buddy and his name is BOB.
2. Scrapstreet girls do NOT have secret crushes on their BILs.
3. If you’re going in for oral surgery, you might want to double check the appointment time…AND date.
4. “peepers” is a new geometric shape.
5. Teen-itis and Testosterone Poisoning are very real diseases and we’re pretty sure they are highly contagious.
6. Unless you want to explain the appearance of pink crayons, you might wanna stick to having a GIRL kitty as your toddler’s pet.
Yep…September was fun AND informative, but I’m sure October will be just as great. Make sure you drop by and find out for yourself. See you all on the streets!
