Furry Fun!

As an avid dog lover, I was so happy to receive the opportunity to show off some of the dogs in the Scrapstreet community. It’s so fun to see the quirky humor each of us live with from our dogs. Each is unique and loved for the moments of joy they give us and the laughter that is brought to us on a daily basis. I believe we are unique people when we find it a need to share the moments with others that our dogs give us. Who would have thought that some of the things we find comical or humorous from our dogs, we also chalk up to family moments. Sometimes it’s not what they do, but how they do it that makes us smile.

"Dogs laugh, but they laugh with their tails. What puts man in a higher state of evolution is that he has got his laugh on the right end." - Max Eastman

Do we mimic our dogs? Often it’s said that we share some sort of common, look or personality with our animals. It couldn’t be truer thru the eyes of an adult watching a child interact with a dog. Dogs are wonderful playmates for our children; they never talk back, and always appear to find what we do fascinating. Hence the saying “Dog is a mans best friend.”

"In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog." - Edward Hoagland

Editors note:

I have always loved Di’s dogs and the layouts she does with them. This one really shows the personality we all associate with this spotted pair, and the simplicity of the layout focuses on the picture.

100% cute by Di Hickman. Supplies: Patterned paper: Crate, Cardstock: Die Cuts with a View, Chipboard alphabet: Heidi Swapp, Stamp: Boxer Scrapbooks.

Journaling:

Lexie has discovered that she loves to drink the water coming out of the faucet in the bath tub. When she wants a drink she will jump into the tub and bark for you to turn on the water. She is 6 months old.

Lovin’ the Tub by Emma Moore.   Supplies: Digital Kit: Blue Shadows by Emma Moore, Font: Hurricane.

Designer Notes: There isn't much else other than what you see in this layout. Some kits are so complete that it doesn't take much altering to use them. This is one of them. I did lighten one of the blue papers for layering; but other than that, everything was used as-created. The title started with a plain font, and then I used Bevel and Emboss to add some texture.

Journaling:

4-16-07 Apparently, watching Toby nurse his hurt toe inspired you to try a little toe-licking as well. ?!?!? Monkey see, monkey do!

Lickable by Lindsey Krauss.   Supplies: Digital kit Michelle 'Spink' Boeckermann at scrapstreet.com, Fonts: Pointed Brush and Times New Roman, Editing program: Adobe PhotoShop CS.
