Happy June, everyone! Now that it’s summer, I hope you all have lots of extra time to scrap…AND to play with us here on the streets. There’s always something fun going on around here. Let’s take a look at what happened last month:
May’s featured street was El Conde in Santo Domingo and we had a blast visiting the Caribbean. Hope you made it to our Dominican Republic crop. There were over 30 games and challenges to keep us busy, including the popular “hourly” challenge. I’m just amazed at the projects that are created on the spur of the moment. Takes me longer than an hour to decide what papers I’ll use! My favorite part of our monthly “fair” crops is to see everyone’s take on the different challenges. So inspirational! Be sure to check out the gallery and see for yourself. Christa was the winner of the Santo Domingo fair prize…WTG, Christa! Make plans to join us for this month’s crop. It’s sure to be a great time.
If you can’t wait ‘til the big weekend crop, be here every Saturday for Saturday Night Scrappin’. We have sketches, lifts, challenges; bingo…lots to keep you busy. ScrapStreet is THE place to be on Saturday night!
Congrats to Dora for being our May bingo winner. Enjoy your loot, Dora! Hope you all signed up for June bingo. We have over 20 people playing this month and there is a nice little prize package waiting for the winner. Check out the Arcade for rules and other info. Hope to see you there!
Resident of the month:
This month we recognize a girl who has been with us for almost a year. She is fun and friendly and brings an air of carefree energy to our streets. She is a talented scrapper with a fresh and unique style. You can just tell by looking at her work that she really enjoys trying new things and that scrapping is genuinely fun for her. We like to tease her sometimes, but that’s ok since she is sort of the “little sister” here in our street family. And the family wouldn’t be the same without her. So big ScrapStreet hugs go out to Nicole Martel—this month’s celebrated resident.

Time for Jakey's
Corner:
Hiya, scrapstreet girls! Whatchu do-in-in? Oh….and I heard there is a scrapstreet guy now too. Good thing since I was feeling a little outnumbered. Really think he needs to start playing bingo and pick Spiderman for his cartoon…that would be so cool!
Aunt Woey thinks I’m a bit obsessed with Spiderman. But I don’t think it’s THAT bad. Just because I sang the theme song to the Krinkles drive-thru guy. Just because I like to pretend I’m

spiderman swinging from aunt woey’s hair. Just because I’m pretty sure her printer is only for printing out spiderman coloring sheets. Just because I wanted a box of taco shells ‘cause they had his picture on it. I mean…geesh…that’s not obsessed, right? And THEN she even knocked down all the spiderman webs that were hanging from the ceilings when I showed them to her.
She is sorta strange about stuff like that. Always cleaning the house and picking up my toys. It’s really frustrating for me to have to drag them all back out again, but what’s a guy to do?
She also fusses at me when I say that everything is mine…says I have to share. But she doesn’t really like sharing with ME. Why just the other day, she got upset that I was using her chapstick…said it was HERS… for scrapbooking. Who knew you used chapstick in scrapbooking? Guess I’ll never understand this hobby.
The big news around Aunt Woey’s house is my new pool! It’s WAY better than the big pool. Mostly ‘cause it’s not green. I’ve been spending lots of time in it while Aunt Woey plays with her flowers and paints. She calls it a good babysitter…whatever that means. I just think its fun.
Think I’ll go get in it right now. “bye-bye” scrapstreet!!
Did we publish your work this month? If so, congratulations! Head on down to the garage and pick up your pub n’ mag license plate and claim your bragging rights. And if you didn’t get your projects in this month, be sure to check out the calls for upcoming issues. I’m sure there is the perfect call out there waiting for you. We’re always excited to see your stuff!
May’s Grins and Giggles:
1. Lindsey and Jen both survived their husbands’ vacations…and so did the husbands. It was a close call there for a while though…hee hee.
2. 911 for Dora…Amber’s toy Dora that is. Thanks to Mireille for that story…too cute!
3. Do NOT wear a “wrap” dress on a windy day. Couple scrapstreet residents found that out the hard way.
4. Who says it’s not “pc” to own a 400 acre “no kill” animal shelter…AND a great steakhouse…all at the same time?
5. James (AKA “the good chap”)—blind dates and the fall of Computer Dude—we are tuning in for updates.
6. Dora’s hood: crazy lawn guy, Naughty, Hottie, Frat boys, Make-out Momma, (and hopefully Dreamboat too!). We love ‘em all ‘cause it means lots of fun stories for us.
Well…that about does it for me. Hope everyone has a scrappy and fun-filled June. Cya on the streets!!
