Card Corner

  Di Hickman

We all have them, and you probably don't tell them enough how much you appreciate them! What am I talking about? Well friends of course! When was the last time you sent a card to a friend for no other reason than to say you were thinking of them? I know I don't do it nearly enough, and I am a BIG card maker. Well this month we thought we'd dedicate card corner to telling friends how much they mean to you, whatever your style, we're sure to inspire you with these cards dedicated to friends.

Design notes: The Making Memories chipboard was inked with Walnut ink and then heat embossed with Tim Holtz distressed embossing powders.

Hi Friend by Dawne Ivey. Supplies: Patterned Paper: Sweet Bella, Cardstock: Bazzill, Flowers: Prima, Stamp: Technique Tuesday, Frame: Making Memories, Chipboard: Making Memories, Ink: Versamark, Postcard: 7 gypsies; Embossing powder: Tim Holtz.

Editor notes: I loved the way Beatriz used felt to make her own flowers!

Friends are flowers by Beatriz Jennings. Supplies: Cardstock: Paper reflections, Patterned Paper: Marcella by K (K & Co), Stamps: Autumn Leaves, Image Tree rubber stamps, Ric Rac: Making Memories, Other: handmade felt circles, rhinestones, friends are flowers by Beatriz Jennings.

Design notes: I cut two different patterned papers in curves and adhered these next to each other, leaving a 3/16" gap. I filled the gap with white paint dots. I used the back of a wooden skewer to make the dots. I used brads in the flower centers on the patterned paper.

Thinking of you by Janneke Smit.  Supplies: Paper: Sassafras Lass, Chipboard Word: Li'l Davis Designs, Mini Brads: Karen Foster Design, Paint: Delta Ceramcoat, Other: Wooden skewer.
