You've Got It!

  Jennifer Wuthrich

I remember being pregnant with my first child and having those “pregnancy dreams”…what would my child look like? What if he came out looking like some sort of an alien? I hate to admit it…but after a few of those “pregnancy dreams” I was a bit worried.

My worries faded the first time I set eyes on my little boy…he was adorable! And even if he wasn’t…I don’t think I would have known! It was in that moment I realized there is something special about having your own children…it’s a natural love that is not forced but is just there. They are adorable and simply beautiful to you!

Journaling: Abrianna, It's been truly amazing watching your transformation from an adorable little baby to a beautiful little girl. You're only six years old but already you show an interest in many of the same things that I enjoy. You love posing for me when I take pictures and it amazes me how good you are. We had a great time out in the back yard snapping these pictures. You were eager to get them inside to decorate them on the computer (as you put it). Already you're learning how to use Paint Shop Pro and doing very well. You are truly a little girl after grandmas heart.

You Ought To Be In Pictures by Brenda Peters.  Supplies: Software: Paint Shop Pro X, Digital Kits: Pretty Primavera Collection Biggie by Thao Cosgrove at Scrapgirls.com, Doodles Embellishments Mini by Tonya Doughty at Scrapgirls.com, Fonts: French Script MT, Imprint MT Shadow.

Design notes: I made this layout based upon a sketch challenge by Marnie Adams of Scrapgirls.com. One of the elements in my layout is a small calendar that I used to define the date of my pictures. I really like the calendar in my layout because it becomes part of the art in the background and not just a date. One nifty little feature in PSPX is the ability to create monthly calendars using a script. To create the calendar, I simply ran the script called "CalendarMonth" and entered the text input values. (year, month, color etc.) Once my calendar was created, I converted it to a raster layer and then saved it as a png. I then exported it as a custom brush and later inserted it into my layout using a compatible color from my layout. I exported my calendar into a brush so I could continue to use it again when necessary. I then chose to circle the day using a circle doodle from the Doodles Embellishments Mini. Lastly, I changed the transparency of the calendar by playing around with the layer opacity slider bar till I achieved the desired effect.
