Lifting Lane

 Nicole Martel

What exactly is a scraplift? This is a question that does not seem to have just one answer. To some, it is copying--taking a layout and recreating it almost exactly. To others, it is a source of inspiration--taking a detail that you like and making it your own. Either way, it can be a technique to jumpstart your scrapping when you are in a slump or to help you zip out a layout in a hurry.

Editor’s Notes:  The warm colors and darling teddy bear give this layout such a sweet and homemade feel--even though it is entirely digital.

When I Grow Up by Katey Green.  Supplies: Digital kit Fall Circles by DeDe Smith, photo courtesy of Anita Patterson, Font:  Chinacat.

Design notes: When I saw this adorable layout by Katey, I just fell in love with it. I love the warm color combination, the circles and the buttons. This is truly a sweet layout! This layout isn't overwhelmed with embellishments which I really admire.

Us by Nicole Martel. Supplies: Paper:  Junkitz, Chipboard:  Bo Bunny, Cardstock:  Bazzill, Rub ons:   Cosmo Cricket, Other:  Ribbon.

Design notes: I loved the simple photo block and large embellishment of Katey's design.  A few minutes later while browsing the kits in our digital contest, I found this fabulous one and knew it was perfect for this lift and these pictures of my daughter on Crazy Hair Day at her school.  Thanks for the inspiration, ladies.

Rockstar Hair by Dora Phillips. Supplies: Digital Kit:  Musicology Stuff by Brooke Rochon.  Fonts:  Blackladder and Georgia.
