Chic Street

 Jen Wuthrich

It’s also the season for cuddling up around a warm fire with that extra soft blanket from Grandma while sipping on some yummy hot chocolate.

With everything that the season represents to me, I couldn’t imagine focusing on a better trend this month than felt! Felt is warm, cozy and something for those long cold nights to keep you busy crafting.

Felt has become a hot trend lately, and until recently I had never actually used any felt on any of my scrapbooking projects. I did find that at first it was a bit challenging…but the rich warmth that it adds to your page was worth giving it a try.

If you haven’t tried to use felt yet, pick it up this winter season and give it a try! If it is inspiration that you need to get you going…check out these projects, I am sure you will be inspired.

Design notes: This sketch book will come in handy during the holiday season just to help keep track of ideas, quotes, journaling, sketches and any other little tidbit I won't want to forget.

Christmas Sketch Book by Reneé Morris-Dezemeber. Supplies: Paper: Sweetwater, Button: Sweetwater, Other: Sketch Book, Felt, Floss, Jingle Bells.

Design notes: I replaced the “o” with a snowflake for a fun effect/feel.

Let it Snow Card by Jennifer Wuthrich. Supplies: Paper: Basic Grey, Kraft, Felt: American Crafts, : Tim Hotlz, Tools: Cricut Doodlebug Font.

Design notes: To tone down the brown color of the letters, I first smudged with white ink and then stamped them across with swirl stamps. Also, to add depth to the card, I crumpled the middle layer of paper and then inked the defined crimps.

Miss You Card by Brianne Nevill. Supplies: Paper: Bazzill, Felt: Queen and Company, Stickers: Basic Grey, American Crafts, Stamps: Autumn Leaves, Ink: Color Box, Brads: Paper Studio.

Journaling: Miss You.
