Overhaul Alley

 Christa Parker

Christmas memories… ahhhh, yes, my memories. I remember when I was little being so excited about Christmas. We had an Advent calendar and counted down every night and the closer December 25 came the more excited I got. I remember waiting in the long lines at the mall just to sit on Santa's lap to tell him what I wanted him to bring me. I remember driving so long it seemed like forever to go to the tree farm and walking around to find that perfect Christmas tree. I remember decorating the tree with my ornaments that my mom bought us every year. I remember the smell of pies and turkey cooking and couldn't wait to sit down and eat. I remember waking up Christmas day and sitting around a pile of colorful wrapping paper. I have so many wonderful memories. I hope that one day my children will have their memories to share with their children. Whatever your Christmas memory may be, share them with your loved ones, start a new tradition or make something special for a gift.

Design notes: I love making gift bags! Just like cards, there are so many things you can do with them. For the Christmas tree here, I just stamped the image onto cardstock, cut it out, and colored it in with the colored pencils. After adhering it to the mat on foam squares, I used Stickles on a few areas to bling it up a bit.

Merry Christmas Bag by Michelle McClung. Supplies: Paper: BasicGrey, Stamps: Autumn Leaves, Glitter: Ranger, Ink: Color Box, Hampton Arts, Other: Bag, Ribbon, Colored Pencils.

Design notes: This project uses the small matchboxes you find at your local grocery store. I covered each box with paper, sanded, distressed & decorated. On the back of the boxes a small piece of magnetic strip was attached to stick on the steel sheet. Inside the "drawer" you will find a little family activity for each day of December. It is a fun activity my daughters look forward to each day!

Christmas Countdown Advent Calendar by Candi Ladwig. Supplies: Paper: Imaginisce, Cosmo Cricket, Cardstock: Bazzill, Paint: Making Memories, Brads & Foam Snowflakes: Imaginisce, Clips: Making Memories, Distress Ink: Colorbox, Other: Ribbon, Chipboard Snowflakes, Steel Sheet & Matchboxes.

Journaling: Christmas Countdown, inside the boxes, it is a "to do list" with a family activity.

Editor's notes: I like the way Lucy arranged the ornaments and add the ribbons. They look like they pop off the frame.

Altered Picture Frame by Lucy Chesna. Supplies: Paper Star: Cosmo Cricket, Other: frame from thrift store.
