Colors of the
Season
Michelle
McClung
|
 |
Typically, when we think colors for the
holiday season, we think the traditional red, green and
gold. All warm colors that invoke a sense of warmth,
coziness, and a snuggly feeling. It reminds us of
gatherings by the fire, warm delicious meals and a
feeling of contentment.
Take a look at the
submissions from our talented readers, and get a sense
of what they want you to feel by using color. Will it
remind you of past Christmases? Do you tend to stick to
the traditional or do you enjoy decorating and in turn
scrapping non traditional colors for your holiday pages?

Design note: Creating the
"quilted" look with all of the patterned papers, adds a
lot of visual interest to the page.

note: Next
time you have more photos than you can fit on a page,
try a flip up. You instantly gain space! On this layout
I did a flip up on the photo on the right hand side.
Under the photo when it is flipped up there are two more
photos and some journaling.

Oh
Christmas Tree by Laura Gilhuly.
Supplies: Paper and Rub-Ons:
Basic Grey, Cardstock: Bazzill, Jigsaw Letter and
Ribbon Slides: Making Memories, Chipboard: EK
Success, Poinsettia: Imaginesce.
Journaling: Our
Christmas tree has always been a thing of beauty
in our home. Jon and our boys pick out the best
tree they can find, take it home then wait till
the next day so the branches have fallen and
decorate it. Jon meticulously sorts through all
the lights, wraps the ribbon around the tree and
then places each ornament where it would look the
best. The tree always looks stunning when he is
finished! Tyler is my Christmas boy; I think it
helps that he was born on the December 22nd! He
loves Christmas shows, lights, decorations, songs,
everything to do with Christmas. Cody on the other
hand, while he enjoys being with family and
friends, the parties and gifts, isn't into the
decorating so much. This year Ty wanted his own
tree. Who could resist such a cute face! He
decorated it himself then put it in his bedroom to
use as a night light. He just loves his little
Christmas tree!
