Street Maps

It is interesting to see how diverse people’s creativity can be. How they all can have been given the same sketch and yet their final products are totally different. What a great motivator! That gets my wheels turning and usually out of a scrapping slump.

The following sketch was created by Di Hickman and Lucy Chesna. Five scrapbookers created five different projects. Even though this sketch was intended for a 12 X 12 layout, as you will see, you can really use it for any thing- 8 ˝ X 11, card, altered project, or flip the sketch all around to produce a mini album!

Designer note: Scalloped edges are all of the rage right now. These sketches are pretty simple, but watch out! Check out all of the layouts- they are anything but!

Sketch by Di Hickman and Lucy Chesna.

Journaling: She is so happy...she has a new dress, she has on new boots, and she can RUN! Woooo hoooooooo!!!!!

Designer trick: I mixed American Crafts Thickers to create a greater visual impact.

New Dress & Boots= Run! by Tammy Gray.  Supplies: Paper: Sassafrass Lass, Doodle Bug, Buttons: Buttons Galore, Flowers: Bling Flowers, Cardstock: Bazzill, Felt: Queen and Company, Stickers: American Crafts, Pen: Sakura, Other: Ric-Rac.

Journaling: Veronica and Natalie, Beverly Shores, July 2003

Designer tip: I used a sketch template for this layout. I tried to pick out colors that matched the girls and the water in the photo. I wanted to use a bright color to make it really pop!

Try It by Egle Noel.  Supplies: Sketch and Template by Lucy Chesna and Di Hickman, Digital Kit: Daydreams by Lena Brandenburg (A Cherry On Top), Bloomed and Buttoned Up by Lena Brandenburg (A Cherry On Top), Flowers: Little Flower Shoppe, Action: Anita Stergiou (A Cherry On Top), Fonts: "Girlie" and "Moonlight" by Melissa Baxter (Scrapbook-Bytes).
