Chic Street

 Jennifer Wuthrich

As a child, I would watch my Mother pull out her journal every night and record the simple things that happened that day...I remember sitting and watching her, thinking I wonder what she is writing and gosh, she has a lot to say.

Now that I am older, I can see what she might have had to say every day in her journal. There are so many small moments that we all witness everyday and I am thankful that my Mom took the time to record those small moments of my childhood.

Often in conversations with my Mom she will pull out her journal to find out the exact date that I "broke my arm", or "when my brother went to the hospital", or "when we went on that perfect family vacation"! It is so nice to have those moments and relive them through her journal.

I have never been successful at keeping a journal and until recently I felt like a bit of a failure in that area, until I realized I am journaling on my scrapbook pages. This month we wanted to see what you are doing with journaling tags, cards and spots.

Design Note: My journaling spot is just a simple oval. I felt like my layout was too square so I used the oval to soften it up.

Inked by Jenny Rickard.  Paper: Bazzill, Daisy D's, Cosmo Cricket, My Mind's Eye, Other, Flowers: Prima, Buttons: Other, Ribbon: Offray, Pen: Creative Memories.

Journaling:  Supplies:  Freightliner sponsored a big Easter Extravaganza at Sloan Park. Along with all the food and games there were also FREE airbrushed "tattoos". You chose a blue crab, Nevan a frog.

Design Notes: I made the frame around the center photo from a Hambly Prints journal frame. I used an exacto knife to cut the center out.

I Can Ride by Denise Hughes. Supplies: Paper: Bazzill, Flair Designs, My Mind's Eye, Flower: Petaloo, Rub-ons: Creative Imaginations, Frame: Hambly Prints, Bling: Paper Studio, Ribbon: Creative Imaginations, Snap: We R Memory Keepers.

Journaling: "I can ride this size bike". I gave this bike to my mom when we went to visit. Hayleigh loved it so much, I was not sure we would be able to leave without it!

Design Notes:  I covered all the chipboard circles in different coordinating patterned papers. Then I inked the edges to give it some definition from each circle. I used dimensions to even out the thickness of the chipboard circles. I used my sanding block on my title to give it some more texture.

Love You by Nicole Pealer. Supplies: Paper: Doodlebug Design, Sara Binder, Flowers: Bazzill, Brad: Bazzill, Bling: Me and My Big Ideas, Chipboard: American Crafts, Technique Tuesday, Ink: Stampin' Up, Pen: Micron.

Journaling: July 7 2007. This is the day Brandon and Erin got married. Jeff was their ring bearer and Jamie went as her normal princess self. Love You!
