Card Corner

 Di Hickman

November is a time of thanks. Traditionally, it is giving thanks for a bountiful harvest with a big meal to celebrate, surrounded by lots of family and friends. Whether giving thanks for the season, health, wealth, happiness, family or friendship, a thank you card can mean so much at this time of year. These cards celebrate the season of thanksgiving with their rich fall colors and textures.

Design note: With this card I used a double 'reverse' mat and an edge distresser to give it more texture.

Happy Thanksgiving by Mary Shirley. Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill, Die Cuts With a View, Patterned Paper: Die Cuts With a View, Alpha Stickers: Die Cuts With a View, Flowers: Prima, Ribbon: Basic Grey, Buttons: My Minds Eye, Brad: The Paper Studio, Hemp Cord: The Beadery, Other: Burlap, Thread.

Design note: With this card I took the "seed packet" design from the patterned paper and sewed it onto cardstock. I then tore around the edges of the stitching to give a distressed look, as well as spreading ink directly onto the card from the ink pad.

Season of Giving by Debbie VanMarter. Supplies: Paper: Flair, Cardstock: Stampin' Up, Ribbon: May Arts, Rub-ons: Scenic Route, Bead: Blue Moon Beads, Other: Pearlized stick pin.

Design note: Because the stamped sentiment was too dark against the printed paper, I traced the image with a metallic pen.

So Thankful by Jolene Johnston. Supplies: Paper: Flair, Provocraft, Cardstock: Cardstock Warehouse, Ink: Colorbox, Stamp: Autumn Leaves, Ribbon, Leaves: Michaels, Button: Foofala, Pen: Sakura.
