Remember playing tag as a kid?
Racing away from your friends in hopes that you would not be
caught? This is not that kind of tag! This is
more like playing the game telephone from your days as a jr.
high girl. Remember that one? You whisper a
sentence to your friend and she whispers it to the next girl
and she whispers it to whoever is next in line. When
it reaches the end, you see exactly what happened to your
original sentence. The more girls you had in line, the
more it changed.
In scrap tag, the person first in line
scraps a page and sends it to a friend. She uses it as
inspiration for a page and sends it on to the next one in
line. Players can lift anything or everything--no
rules here except for keep it moving down the line.

Designer's Note:
I wanted to start the tag off with a more simple layout, so
I fell back on blocking. It is a great way to add in
lots of patterns while still having a nice balance. I
also made sure to have a quick and easy journaling idea.
For some subtle fun, I traced the wheels and the word fast
with a black sharpie. |
Ride by Dora Phillips.
Supplies: Paper: Crate Paper, Letters:
Rusty Pickle, Font: Georgia, Pen: Sharpie, Ink:
Stampin Up!, Other: Buttons.

Designer's Notes: Have fun picking
out patterned paper! In this case, since it's all about
bubbles, I chose patterned paper with circular patterns and
used the outside of the letter chipboard, also in circle
shapes. I did think I needed to break up all those circles,
so the squared off background, linear doodling, and long
journaling and ribbon offset the roundness of the rest. |

Blow Bubbles by Lindsey Krauss. Supplies:
Paper: Scenic Route, Cardstock: Bazzill,
Ribbon: Target, Chipboard: Heidi Swapp, Pens: Sharpie, Ink: Jim Holtz for Ranger,
Other: buttons.
Journaling: Aug '07 It's amazing how something like blowing bubbles gets a very active little boy like you to sit for as long as you might. There is something magical about your concentration and pride after blowing "a weeally big one!"

Editor's
Notes: Notice how Amber used strips of ribbon
instead of text to keep the lines the same as the layout
she was lifting. The white of the ribbon helps to
pop her title off of the bold patterned paper. |
College Grad by Amber Bell. Supplies:
Paper: Die Cuts With a View, Cardstock: Bazzill, flowers: Prima, cardstock stickers: Cloud 9 Design alpha, "graduation" embellishment: Jolee's.
