Happy November all!
Are you staying busy? Starting your
preparations for the holiday season?
I was shocked at
how early Christmas arrived in stores this year.
I am used to the holidays arriving in craft stores
early--after all we need time to make all of our
fabulous gifts. But I do not remember seeing
Christmas trees and decorations in stores during
September before this year. I wandered in
looking for back to school clothes and ran right
into the holidays--and almost ran screaming back out
of the store.
I took a deep
breath and headed back in skirting the edges of the
mini North Pole and arriving in the sweatshirts
safely and calmly. After a few trips to the
store--and a few more weeks time--I was ready.
I have a good start on my Christmas cards, my
shopping list is shaping up, and I am starting to
hum carols as I wander down the isles. And,
since I am "ahead", I can take a bit of extra time
and really enjoy my Thanksgiving holiday. The
kids and I have been gathering acorns and pinecones
and are certain we can create the best table
decorations ever this year. I may even have
enough time for some thank you cards--ones sent to
my loved ones to thank them not for gifts that they
sent, but for the gifts that they are to me.
