Street Maps

Michelle McClung

I came across a great $5 find at Target: a large leather planner complete with all of the pages and pockets to plan, organize and document everything in my life - down to the minute!  There’s even a section that I can use to jot down some scrappy inspiration if I wanted to.  Even though it wasn’t on my shopping list, the promise of complete and utter organization for this planning freak was just too good to pass up.

So are you an organizer or are you a fly by the seat of your pants type of person?  Do you live by your planner or wouldn’t even consider buying one?  How do you organize your life?

Design notes: This is a well-balanced page with the photos as a focal point.  The visual weight is evenly distributed between the title strip from the left, photos centered,  and the journaling strips below to the right.

Sketch #5 by Michelle McClung.  Digital Supplies:  Adobe Photoshop.

Design notes:When I start a layout with a sketch, I always look for the photos first to go with it. I love how easily this page came together because once I had the photos, I knew exactly what papers I wanted to use.  Keeping it all to the same paper line made it a snap to complete the layout.

Lotion Boy by Melita Chow.  Supplies: Paper: The Paper Company, SEI, Ribbon, Stickers: SEI,  Alpha Stickers: Heidi Grace Designs,  Brads: Kimberly Poloson, Pen: American Crafts,  Other: button.

Journaling: I can never get you to put on lotion at home, but you loved the lotion at the Del. You got some whenever we passed through the lobby. We got some in our room, but it was too expensive to get the big bottle you loved.

Design notes: I added the frame around the color photo in Photoshop using a stroke in blending modes.  The title text is created in Photoshop and printed onto cardstock, I stamped the ballet shoes for some added interest.  I didn't have any pink cardstock that matched for a matt around the title so I created a border with the brush marker I used for stamping.

Dance Diva by Di Hickman.  Supplies:  Papers: Boxer Scrapbooks, DieCuts with a View, K & Co., Stamps: Boxer Scrapbooks,  Font: Bickham Script Pro, Flower: Bazzill, Brad: Boxer Scrapbooks, Photo Editing Software: Photoshop (Adobe).

Journaling: And we should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once! Friedrich Nietzsche
