Up Close and Personal

This month we are getting up close and personal with our fur-covered BFFs, whether it is by telling the personal ways we met them and fell in love, or by showing off a cute little habit.  All of our pets are so special, and sometimes we forget to document just what makes them so very special to us.  I hope you take some inspiration from the artists highlighted here to make sure you capture just what it is that makes your cat or dog so special to you.

Cat Meets Mouse caught my attention because the artist utilized the story behind a layout within the layout.  Sam captured my heart with his story of healing.  Three Reasons Why stands out with it’s beautiful picture of health before sickness.

Design notes: The Fluffy’s Comments:  Now you tell me, what cat wouldn’t love a new “mouse?”  Don’t you just love how the human incorporated the layout within the layout.  I really like the way that Paws was allowed final approval and that his suggestions were taken into account.

Cat Meets Mouse by Sherry Davis.  Digital Supplies:  Paper: from Cinnamon Suede by Syndee Nuckles, Doggy Tales and Endearing You by Thao Cosgrove, Chronicles by Brandy Murray (altered),  WordArt: from Ringed Note by Thao Cosgrove and Here Now by Shalae Tippetts, Clip: by Thao Cosgrove, Scrap Simple Paper Packages 3 and Scrap Simple Lifted Doubles Declled by Melissa Renfro, Pen from Yesteryear by Brandy Murray, Template:  Scrap Simple Digital Layout Templatees: Mulitple Photo 4 by Angie Briggs, Brush Set: Time Stamped by Shalae Tippetts, Fonts:  Shirley & Microsoft Sans Serif.

Journaling:  Paws came to live with you the day after Christmas.  I took a lot of photos knowing that I was going to create a layout to commemorate the occasion.  Designing digital layouts always seem to be an adventure for me and today proved to be no different.  Paws decided that he liked trying to catch the things going across the screen.  Every time I set him down, he jumped right back up to help me out.  Once my layout was finished I let Paws do a thorough inspection.  He gave it 2 Paws UP!

Design notes: Matching embellishments were hand cut from a sheet of Daisy Bucket paper and some of them were raised with 3-D dots.  Title, journaling and "Sam" were all computer generated and typed out on white cardstock.

Sam by Cheryl Nyboer.  Supplies:  Paper: Bazzill Basics Paper, Daisy Bucket, Ink:  Tim Holtz, Adhesives: Tombow, Avery, EK Success, Fonts:  New Times Roman, Other: chipboard.

Journaling:  We recently rescued Sam from a local shelter.  He is just the perfect dog for us and has taken away some of the pain of losing our Baily and Machey.  They were with for many years and we lost both of them in the last 2 years.  So, we rescued Sam, but Sam also rescued us.  We are ALL so lucky!

Rover’s Thoughts:  It always does a dog good to hear that a human has helped rescue one us from a bad situation.  And, when the perfect match is found for a forever home, it’s a cause for celebration.  Good job, Sam, love the photo!  Oh, and Cheryl, wonderful layout.

Design notes: I seem to always ink, tear and distress everything.   A project never seems complete without it.  I love this photo of Smokey.  It means a lot to have this layout featured of our dear fur baby.  We found out he had cancer right before I did this layout.

3 Reasons Why by: Regina Hudson.  Supplies:  Paper:  Mustard Moon, Cardstock:  Bazzill Basics Paper, Stickers:  Americasn Craft, SEI, Bo Bunny, Journaling Block: Luxe, Diecut: Scenic Route, Flowers, Felt Heart:  Making Memories, Ink: Tim Holtz

Journaling:  You keep my feet warm at night.  You like to cuddle on the couch with me.  You are so tolerant of Patrick.   Smokey – Photo taken 9/08

Fluffy’s Comments:  I love all the layering and things going on here.  Smokey seems like a very content cat.  And I’d say he’s certainly lucky to have a human like Regina to love and care for him.
