Method Playground

There are definite styles in the scrapbooking world.  Some folks are driven by clean and simple designs using minimal supplies, while others love a vintage and layered feel.  Then there are those who are technique-driven.  You know this style when you see it, lots of paint, mixed media, or stamping.  The style is used by gals who are never afraid to take a risk with their art.  I have such admiration for people who utilize old techniques in a fresh way or who scour their craft stores looking for a new approach.  So I was intrigued when I came across a very unique and inspiring blog known as Method Playground.  Whether you are a scrapper who doesn’t usually apply techniques or someone who loves to step outside of the box, you will be pleased!

Method Playground is the perfect name for such a fun blog.  Every other Monday, a technique is shared.  Hence, you have the “method.”  The team does a nice job explaining that technique and/or showing gorgeous examples of how to use it on your scrapbooking projects.  Then they encourage you to play, explore, and jump right in.  Thus, you have the “playground.” What I love the most is that other than using the given technique, there are no rules or boundaries on what you are encouraged to create.

Some past challenges involve using a monochromatic color scheme, glimmer mist spray or journaling directly on your photographs.  Their newest challenge involves using decorative tape on your project.  Look at the eye-candy created by the talented team.

What being a part of this design team means to you:  I love to challenge myself and being apart of Method Playground does that for me every two weeks.  The designers are awesome and so creative.  I'm inspired every time there is a new challenge!

What being a part of this design team means to you: I love being part of the Method Playground team for several reasons. First, it keeps me motivated to scrap. The challenges make me try new things I might not otherwise have, which is the whole point!. And the best part, the other ladies on the team are so inspiring & very talented, and they're just plain fun to work with.

B*day Wishing by Deborah Mahnken.  Supplies:  Paper: Chatterbox, Inc., Making Memories, Pink Paislee, Chipboard: Bazzill Basics, Scenic Route, Alphabet:  American Crafts, Gaffer Tape:  7gypsies, Pen: Slickwriter, Rip Strips:  Studio Calico, Stickers: Scenic Route, Cosmo Cricket, Journaling Sticker: Paper Source, Ink:  Stampin' Up, Glimmer Mist.

Journaling: At 4 1/2 you are birthday-focused. Every day you ask me variations on the theme - when is it? Is it today? And you plan your party - who will be invited, what kind of pinata, etc...

What being a part of this design team means to you:  For me, the designs are always a technical challenge and it’s a lot of fun and a necessary break from my daily routine.
