Just One

 Dora Phillips

A monochromatic color scheme uses a single color. In this type of scheme, various darker shades, grayer tones, and paler tints of the main color may be included in the palette. In addition, the one color is often paired with white, black, or another neutral.

That is the definition and it sounds simple enough, doesn't it?  And for some scrappers, it is.  I must confess that I found it to be incredibly difficult.  There are just so many pretty scrapbooking goodies to choose from!

Design notes: The teal color of the Disneyland castle roof totally caught my eyes and inspired me to create this non-traditional Disney layout.

Disneyland by Aileen Griffiths.  Supplies: Paper: K and Company, Flowers: Prima, Brads: Making Memories, Alpha Stickers: EK Success, Pen: Zig, Gems & Buttons: JoAnn's, Stamps: Autumn Leaves, Other: Lace and Ink.

Journaling: The most MAGICAL place on earth...

Design notes: I pierced my wholes with a paper piercer before I started sewing on my layout. It helps to keep the stitches straight

Totally Spoiled by Jackie Gallagher. Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill, Flowers: Joann's, Bazzill, Prima, Making Memories, Embroidery Floss: DMC, Ribbon: Offray, Stickers: Doodlebug, Woven Label: Making Memories, Buttons: Making Memories, Pom-Pom ribbon: Joann's.

Journaling: Okay, I admit it! Having 3 men in the house has made me completely obsessed with the color pink! And let me tell you...your wardrobe is full of it! You are one spoiled little girl...but I can't help it! Who else can I dress in pink?

Design notes: I love lots of layers and mixing papers, so I totally stepped outside of my box when making a monochromatic layout. To keep the one-color-scheme interesting, I used papers with lots of texture. I cut a chipboard frame to make a large photo corner.

Pure by Stacey Michaud. Supplies: Paper: Chatterbox Inc., Cardstock: The Paper Company, Chipboard: Chatterbox Inc., Alphabet: Chatterbox, Inc..

Journaling: You are intense, controlling, yet loyal & loving. You are who you are & I love you!
