Easy Being Green

 Nicole Martel

Every year, I look forward to visiting the Baltimore Aquarium. My husband and I usually go in the summer. I love the rain forest area because of all the beautiful frogs! Even though the frogs are poisonous, they are beautiful. Most of the frogs that I’ve seen at the aquarium range in the colors of blue, orange, yellow, green, and black. My favorite frogs were the blue ones because the black dots on the blue skin looked so cool. I could spend hours looking through the glass cage searching for hidden frogs to photograph!

Having expressed my love for frogs, I admit that I’ve always loved these little creatures. Maybe it’s because Kermit the frog was my favorite character on Sesame Street as a child? I’m not sure.

This month here at ScrapStreet we hope to motivate you by stepping out of the box and using frogs on your layouts! We’ve selected a few layouts from readers like you in hopes of inspiring you to use frogs on your layouts in creative ways!

Design notes: I cut apart the Webster's papers and put them back together in a pattern that I liked.

Journaling: Little boys just want to play and Asher is no exception. His red cheeks prove the dirt is calling him. Yes, we're done.

Design notes: I thought this was the perfect paper for me to scrap about my daughter's latest obsession. I added some fun doodles and embellishments, and handwrote my journaling.

Toadilly in Love by Aileen Griffiths. Supplies: Paper: Die Cuts With a View, KI Memories, Letter Stickers: Making Memories, Die Cuts With a View, Chipboard: BasicGrey, Die Cut: Colorbok, Pen: Zig, Sakura, Brads: Making Memories, Other: acrylic paint.

Journaling: It all started with a little pet toad that Sylvia caught during our camping trip to Lake of the Woods last summer. The next thing we knew, she was obsessed with everything frog and toad related (March 2009).
