Do you pop in and
read Mireille's column every month and wish
you could travel and take exciting classes
just like her? She certainly makes
them sound like such fun! The truth of
the matter is that so many of us do not have
the opportunity to take "big name" classes.
We do have a variety of technique classes,
all day crops, and make-n-takes at our
favorite local scrapbook store, but would
love to meet some of the scrappers we see in
our magazines.
Have you considered
online classes? OK, so you won't
actually get to have your picture taken with
your favorite scrapper or get to giggle with
them, but you can learn some of their
favorite techniques.
Where to start?
How about youtube? Pop in the name of
your favorite scrapper and see what you can
find. A search of popular grunge
artist Tim Holtz will bring up a number of
his informational videos:

Big Picture
Scrapbooking offers a variety of classes
from free to $35 all conducted by well known
scrappers. Some you can complete in
one sitting and others will last a full
month. They are easy to follow and
well described in advance. Pop in and
give one of the free ones a try here:

Are you a Jessica
Sprague fan? The leading expert in
hybrid scrapping offers classes in
photography, organization, digital and
hybrid scrapping on her own website.
They are not inexpensive--around $10 to
$126 currently--but I have heard plenty of
scrappers rave about them.

Not quite ready to
commit to a purchase? Try a few of the
free classes at twopeasinabucket.com.
Some last a full year with a new lesson
every month while others run weekly for 4 or
6 weeks. I have sampled a few and will
be going back for more as they are well run
and creative.

Interested in more
classes? Open up your Google and start
a search of your own or ask around on your
favorite message board. There are
certainly tons of classes to choose from!
I know they are not the same as traveling
with Mireille all through Europe, but they
can bring a slice of the fun right into your
scrapping space.
