Chat Lane

This month the ladies have had their eyes towards the stars. While I was flitting around sprinkling my little fistful of “pixie dust,” I somehow got
talked into writing this months’ Chat Lane. And, I’ll admit that it didn’t take much convincing. I’ve been singing my song in Kitty’s ear for weeks now.
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream
Make him the cutest thing that I’ve ever seen
Give him two lips like roses and clover
Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over.
Seems like there’s been some troubles sleeping on the streets this month. Little ones not wanting to take their naps. Bigger ones that just want to take a nap. And even a few “extras” in the beds, like beloved pets, beloved blankets, and even a beloved action figure or two! Those always make me giggle. I guess I should have taken a bit more care sprinkling that sleepy dust.
Mr. Sandman, I’m so alone
Don’t have nobody to call my own.
Please turn on your magic beam!
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream.
The ladies spent many a night this month toiling over the weekly challenges for ScrapStreet’s
Annual Star Contest. Some wonderful layout and cards
have been added to the gallery and even those who
were eliminated from the contest continue to put awesome stuff into the “Green Room.” Then the auditions began. Auditions for a spot on the ScrapStreet Pit Crew. As of this writing, a grand prize winner and the
crew spots have not been announced. Try to stay awake to hear them in a bit!
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream
Make him the cutest that I’ve ever seen.
Give him the word that I’m not a rover
Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over.
A few new friends have come to the streets and have added their influence to the fun and games. Some have joined in with the “get fit” group, while others prefer the “observe and document” plan, telling us stories and playing our silly games. And, everybody seems to enjoy the regular posting of dreamy hunks!
Mr. Sandman, I’m so alone
Don’t have nobody to call my own.
Please turn on your magic beam
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream.
It seems that there is a farmer on the streets that could do with a little bit of my “pixie dust.” He’s driving his wife crazy with his unexplained need to plant and nurture peppers! Any sort of peppers! All sorts of peppers! It’s almost as though he been laying in bed at night, just dreaming up different kinds of peppers to plant. Going to be interesting to see just what he does with those peppers… can you say “Peter Piper Picked A Peck of Pickled Peppers?” I bet you will in a couple of months!
Mr. Sandman
("Yesss?")
bring us a dream.
Give him a pair of eyes
with a "come-hither" gleam.
Eyes are closed tight during a round of true life, ghost story telling. Seems that our favorite “friendly ghost” isn’t the only ghost the ScrapStreet ladies have had experiences with. More than a few ladies shared personal experiences from hall lights being turned on, to hearing your name called out in the night, to knocking things over and scaring the babies. Gee, I really do need to check on my “pixie dust” and make sure it’s hasn’t been contaminated.
Give him a lonely heart like Pagliacci,
And lots of wavy hair like Liberace!
And speaking of Liberace, the gals on the streets took some time to share their most special pieces of jewelry and the stories behind those pieces. What a wonderful way to get to know each other even more. From earrings that are a reminder of a lost, beloved mother, to a very special cross in a special blue box to that extra special, just right engagement/wedding ring set. Those threads sparkled even brighter than my “pixie dust!”
Mr. Sandman, someone to hold
Would be so peachy
before we’re too old
So please turn on your magic beam!
As usual, our wonderful community of ladies shared victories, commiserated over lost jobs and a failing economy, laughed, cried, shared,
and cared.
Mr. Sandman, bring us,
please, please, please!
Mr. Sandman, bring us a dream!
So, the dream this Mr. Sandman brings to you this month, is the dream of a wonderful place with wonderful people. So, come on, you know you want to, click on that little “Boards” button and join us! This is no dream, this is ScrapStreet!
