U-Turn

Christa Parker

Hi and welcome to my new column U-Turn. Each month I’ll be featuring an altered item or mini album. Where I’ll be showing and sharing multiple pictures, tips and tricks.

This month altering item is a Watering Can by Kileigh Wirth. Kileigh is a stay at home mom with 3 wonderful children and married for 7 years. She said that she has been crafting/scrapbooking for 8 years and that she loves this hobby. I can see why, she’s a very talented crafter.

When I asked Kileigh to share a few tips and tricks about her project she said that all the flowers are hand cut and layered with paper and a button to complete the look. The flowers are held up by grilling skewers and a large button underneath and hot glued to keep in place. The watering can has a basket in the can to help hold the skewers in place.

One thing that caught my eye first on Kileigh’s project was the soft color papers and the dimension of each piece. These cute little watering cans were made for her daughter’s teachers for the end of year gifts.

Watering can by Kileigh Wirth.  Supplies:  Paper, Stickers, Rub-ons: Melissa Frances, Pearls: Kaleidoscope, Glitter: Ranger, Ribbon: Offray, Making Memories, Watering Can, Skewers: Target, Other: buttons, feathers, vintage piano paper, stamps.

If you have a spectacular altered item or mini album and would like to share you tips and ideas, don’t forget to submit next month.
