Michelle McClung

I have learned that going to crops and actually getting work done is quite impossible for me. It becomes a social meeting; a chance to visit with friends and catch up on all of the happenings. I know it’s not like this for everyone. One of our staff members had recently confessed that she was at a weekend crop and got nine layouts and three cards completed! I couldn’t even imagine all of the supplies you would have to bring with you to do that. Can I fit my entire scrap room into two rolling totes?

Two Page Crop Sketch by Michelle McClung.  Digital Supplies:  Papers: Come Out and Play by Linda Rechtin (Digital Scrapbook Place), Journal Spot: Happy Go Lucky (Shabby Princess), Fonts: Architect, Lambolhmk, Software: Adobe Photoshop.

Design notes:  This page works because it’s a pattern; knowing what comes next makes it visually appealing. I started creating this sketch with the right side first. I liked the idea of having the photos and blocks of patterned papers alternating. When I made the left side, I still wanted to keep with the pattern, but didn’t want a complete repeat of the previous page.

Design notes:  The small photos are supported by the longer paper strip on the bottom, and I felt that the top strip should be shorter and stop right after the title. This makes it feel confined but with a little odd twist.

Design notes:  I thought this page would make a really cute card sketch. I chose to turn it upside down though, so that the sentiment was on the bottom, and gather some embellishments around it.
