The GreenHouse

Jackie Gallagher

I just can’t help myself! I love the way cardboard looks on layouts and other projects…so I just had to share some more with you! Have you started your own creation using some cardboard? If not, hopefully these fabulous projects will get your mojo flowing!

If you’re looking for a great addition to a masculine layout, then cardboard is your friend! It gives your project that extra rugged look that goes so well with those guy photos! If you are looking to give your project a funky look…again, cardboard is there to help! The fun thing about cardboard is that you can dress it up or dirty it down! It’s something everyone needs in their stash!

Design notes:  I used the cardboard from a frozen pizza, dry brushed white paint on the cardboard, and cut out some butterflies from a greeting card.

A Certain Swagger by Toni Kelly.  Supplies:  Paper: My Mind’s Eye, Scenic Route, Stars: Prima Marketing, Other: paint, foam hearts, butterflies, letter stickers, cardboard.

Design notes:  After stripping my cardboard, I glued random pieces of paper onto the background and painted with Gesso, wiping part back off with a baby wipe. Then outline and blend the edges of the paper with a charcoal pencil. Stamp circle with black acrylic paint and layer photo and punched flowers to create the scene.

Altered by Lucy Edson.  Supplies:  Paper: BasicGrey, Prima Marketing, Pink Paislee, American Crafts, Punch: Marvy Uchida, Stamp: Plaid, Butterfly: Heidi Swapp, Tags: Tim Holtz, KI Memories, Other: gesso, paint, pencil, cardboard.

Journaling:  My life is altered, forever changed because of you. So much more than before - you in my life has made me a better person.

Design notes:  The pages of the album are nothing but corrugated cardboard.

To Do by Jackie Gallagher.  Supplies:  Paper, Die-cuts: My Mind’s Eye, Flowers: Prima Marketing, Making Memories, Buttons: Making Memories, Pins: Maya Road, Hemp: Darice, Ribbon: May Arts, Tags: Rusty Pickles, Ink: Tim Holtz, Other: key, O-rings, cardboard.
