Card Corner

Jennifer Wuthrich

Growing up, July 4th was always one of my favorite holidays.  Each year as the Fourth of July approached, the anticipation of firework shows, picnics, and fairs was almost more than I could bear, the holiday just couldn’t arrive fast enough.

As an adult and an American Citizen, the Fourth of July is a time that I personally reflect on how proud I am to be able to raise my children in this great country that I love.  I also think of all of the service men and women that serve our country on a daily basis and how fortunate we are that they protect our freedoms.

Design notes:  I used rick rack to frame and bring attention to the bingo card.

USA Card by Chrys Rose.  Supplies:   Paper: Jenni Bowlin, Boxer Scrapbook Productions, Bingo Card: Jenni Bowlin, Brads: Boxer Scrapbook Productions, Ribbon: Prima Marketing.

Design notes:  I love using ribbon on chipboard, but do used to struggle to trim it without it unraveling.  My new secret?  I glue the ribbon strips on and give them a coating of clear nail polish.  After it is dry, I can trim it easily and it looks great!

4th of July cards by Dora Phillips.  Supplies:  Paper: BasicGrey, Sweetwater, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Chipboard: Maya Road, Sticker: Sweetwater, Flower: Prima Marketing, Pin: JoAnn Essentials, Other: glitter, ribbon.

Design notes:  In order to imitate fireworks behind the pinwheel, I used some rub-ons from American Crafts and achieved the desired effect.

Happy 4th by Diana Brodeur.  Supplies:  Paper: Fancy Pants, American Crafts, Rub-on: American Crafts, Bling: K&Company, Chipboard: Sassafras Lass, Punch: Fiskars.
