Sweet Summer

Jenn Keefer

Ahhh, my favorite time of year is upon us! I absolutely adore summer in Texas. I know it is hot but that does not bother me in the least! I love everything about summers from the BBQs to the fireworks to the bright summer colors, especially all the flowers!

When I was a kid my grandma always had a porch and yard full of flowers- the brighter the better. I think that is where my love of color began. The layouts below all focus on flowers, bright colors and caught my eye right away.

Design notes:  Handcut circles out of scraps of overlay. Attached to whitecardstock with gluedots to add color.Hand drawn "frame" around the picture to make the center of the LO and thepicture the focal point.

Flower Lover by Gudrun Loennecken.  Supplies:  Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Overlay, Rub-ons: Hambly Studios, Flowers: Prima Marketing, Pen: American Crafts, Other: buttons, hearts.

Design notes: This layout was built from the bottom up with the help of a"blind scrapping challenge". With only the photograph and the paper linein mind, I followed the steps from the scalloped cardstock on up, havingno design placement or sketch in mind.

Just Dandy by Lindsey Krauss.  Supplies:  Paper, Border Sticker: PinkPaislee, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Pens: Pilot, Sharpie, Ink: Marcellaby K, Stamps: My Favorite Things, Flowers: Prima Marketing, Brad: MakingMemories, Tool: Crop-A-Dile II, Other: black corded string.

Design notes:  I added pen work around the edges of the layout and around the yellow polka dot Bazzillmat that hold the pictures.

Cactus Bloom by Connie Mercer.  Supplies:  Paper: BasicGrey, Stickers: BasicGrey, Trim: Creative Imaginations.

Journaling:  The cactus is in full bloom on the Ranch. Everything is solush and green. May 03,2009.
