In The Pits

Jenn Keefer

I remember when "thirtysomething" sounded old. Now it is me and I do not consider myself old! I am blessed. I have a loving husband of 10 years and together we have 3 children and a dog. We spent 5 years living in another country, Mexico, and that is where I found Scrapbooking and ScrapStreet.com!

I've been a part of ScrapStreet.com since September 2005 when the site opened. I have always felt at home here and have made some wonderful friends. I will get to meet some of them in person later this month when we head to CHA!! I've been a part of the Pit Crew since our very first issue and could not be more proud to watch the magazine grow and become even more fabulous with each issue. I recently accepted an Editoral positon on the Magazine and am enjoying that just as much!

I am not your 'average' woman. In fact until I met Dora I'd never met another woman like me. I am a pretty simple person, but not really. I enjoy sports and watching them on TV- especially football! I play fantasy football with my hubby and friends. I will be defending my 1st place trophy this season! I enjoy playing poker and hanging with the guys. I know how to grill and work a drill. However, I also like getting my nails done, getting all dressed up and love fancy parties!

I am also a soccer mom. Yep, just happened one day. My oldest plays on 2 different teams all year around and my youngest plays all year. They play both indoor and outdoor. I recently became a soccer wife when my husband decided he was going to play as well. So, many of my hours are spent on a soccer field somewhere! The gal that runs his team is trying like mad to get me to join. I turned her down in the beginning but am now considering it.

It's July- can you believe it? Me neither but I love July and am happy it's here! I enjoy the heat, crazy as that sounds, I am a summer girl! I enjoy celebrating Independence Day and BBQing with the family while watching fireworks - fun and relaxing holiday! I wish you all a safe and Happy Holiday/Summer! (for my non US friends).

Design notes:  My son took these photos of me one morning. I had the sketch done when we took the photos and I knew to show my 'different sides' during the shoot. It was a fun shoot!

It’s My Life by Jenn Keefer. Supplies: Paper: Fancy Pants, KI Memories, The Paper Studio, Stickers: American Crafts, Doodlebug Design, Ink: Tsukineko, Rubber Stampede, Font: 2Peas Scrapbook.

Journaling:  Momma. Mrs. Unique. Sassy. Silly. Football Junkie. ME!

Design notes:  I was inspired by a Coca Cola can to make this card right down to the greeting! It turned out to be one of my most favorite cards ever!

Happiness Card by Jenn Keefer. Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Ribbon: We R Memory Keepers, Ink: Tsukineko, Embossing Powder: Gelatins, Stamp: Stampin’ Up!, Tool: Fiskars texture plate.

Design notes:  This was so much fun to make. I covered the sides with paper before I began construction. To help hold things together, I applied a little Helmar glue to the sides and let it set. This allowed me to tie the ribbons without worrying about keeping it together. I added a few items to the inside of the box and used it as a teacher gift; the teacher loved it!

Cube by Jenn Keefer. Supplies: Tool: Bind-It-All, Paper: The Paper Studio, Acrylic: Bind-It-All, Adhesive: Helmar, Other: ribbons.
