Framed

When I am working with a special photo, I am always tempted to OVER-filter my image with effects. I want the reader to really feel the emotion behind the photo or to understand what was happening in that moment when the shutter closed. Adding a frame to the photo is a great way to enhance the image without over-filtering your photo, but allows your story to shine through. Sometimes a photo needs a little bit more pizzazz and by adding a frame you can draw the reader’s attention to the entire photo or just a specific area.
You may be saying, “Ok, but I don’t print off my own photos at home. I send them to a print service.” No worries! You can still add frames to your photos prior to sending them to the store. The picture of my brother above is a standard 4x6 photo. If sent to service, they would print it out exactly as shown above. On this photo, I used the frame to bring attention to the mood of the photo.
Digital frames can serve many functions in scrapping. Not only can you alter the size to the dimensions of your photo, you can change the color by “dropping” your choice of color into it. Enhancing, drawing attention, adding emotion or intensifying character, frames can play a huge roll in hybrid scrapbooking.
Just talking about frames is not enough, oh no, I have to SHOW you how great they can be too! And what better way to do that than to show off a few of my friend’s beautiful layouts on the next page.
