Pet Park

Terry McCauliffe

They are our hearts, our souls, and true members of our families.  They make us laugh, they make us cry, and they try our patience.  And even if we believe them to be perfect in every way, we must be honest with ourselves and accept that they are, in fact, not perfect.  They love to play games, they love to sneak treats, and they seem to enjoy seeing us wonder what is on their minds.  Sounds a little like kids, doesn’t it!  But in reality it is our beloved cats and dogs.    For some reason we do tend to let them get away with a lot more than we would let our own children get away with.

I am going to be calling on some special friends to help me write this article.  It only seems appropriate that “Fluffy” and “Rover” give us their special point of view of the layouts and such highlighted in our Pet Park.

Design notes: I had planned to use stitching for the two circles, but felt like the page needed a little extra color, so I decided to use blue and yellow paper instead to give it a little pop of color.

Cool Cat by Michelle Johnson.  Digital Supplies:  Papers, swirls, button and alpha from Playtime for the Guys by Carina Gardner (Two Peas), Ric Rac and layered template by Bella Gypsy (Elemental Scraps), Font: Pea Missy.

Journaling: Sam always tries to hide in the fridge.

Fluffy’s Take:  I can see why Sam likes this fridge!  Any small space is just perfect for crawling into and spying out of!  Love the way the human artist highlighted the wonderful photo and didn’t overwhelm it with embellishments!

Design notes: My English cocker spaniel, Scoobie, was literally raised next to the dishwasher as a puppy. It seems almost impossible to turn her away from the bad habit of sneaking into the machine to find if there is anything edible in there.

Try acrylic paint on embossed chipboard cardstock and rub the raised part with sanding paper. That makes a surface both rough and gentle at the same time.

Occupation: Dishwasher by Hilde L Aaslund.  Supplies: Paper: EK Success, BasicGrey, Bazill Basics Paper, Chipboard: Prima, Ink Boutique, Paint: Ranger,  Ink: Clearsnap, Font: Supermarket, Sketch:  kreativ-med-papir.blogspot.com, Other: Louvre Vernissage, pucinella, newspaper, ribbon, scraps.

Journaling:  "and happy with it"

Rover's Point of View:  Man, what I wouldn’t give to be in Scoobie’s place!  Can you imagine?  How delightful that the humans in her life don’t mind her sneaking a little something every once in a while!  Don’t you think those little doggie feet are just adorable!

Design notes: I took my Thickers  and dyed them with green ink. I printed various decorations and swirls, onto a transparency, cut it out, and used it on my layout.  I love to do this, and it's so cost-effective way.  I also enjoy the fact that no matter what the subject, I can print something to match my layout.

Cute, but 100% Trouble by Sandie McCarthy-Roberts.  Supplies:  Paper: UpsyDaisy Designs, Bazzill, Eyelets: Making Memories, Kaiser Krafts,  Alpha Stickers:  American Crafts, Other: rub-ons, ink, transparency, and hand doodling.

Journaling:  Jaguar. You are so cute & funny and adorable. But you are Also 100% trouble with a Capital "T"! If there is mischief that you CAN get into, then you WILL get into it.

Fluffy’s Take:  Oh, I can just see the mischief in those eyes, can’t you?  And, yet, at the same time they beg forgiveness!    I’m liking all the layers, definitely highlights all those layers of wonderfulness in any cat!
