Card Corner

Jennifer Wuthrich

This month we wanted to see how the spring season inspired you in your card making.  Some of our readers were inspired by flowers while others were inspired by the Easter holiday.  While all of our submissions have a different twist on spring, they all share the common hues, flowers and sentiments that this season seems to conjure up.  We hope that these cards will inspire you to make some spring cards for your loved ones and as always we look forward to seeing your cards in our gallery.

Design notes: This was such a simple card to make using BasicGrey stickers and an American Crafts badge for the focal point.  Adding the scalloped edge on the bottom brought the design together.

Smile Card by Penny Brellenthin.  Supplies: Paper: Stampin’ Up!, Making Memories, Bazzill Basics Paper, Badge: American Crafts, Stickers: BasicGrey, Ink: Clearsnap.

Design notes: Replacing a letter with a shape can bring more interest to your card.

Bloom into Spring by Liana Suwandi. Supplies: Paper: We R Memory Keepers, SEI, Creative Imaginations, Chipboard: Scenic Route, Flower: Prima, Buttons, Rub-ons: Making Memories, Punch: EK Success, Die Cut: Sizzix, Other: ribbon.

Design notes: I love die cuts, but find them  somewhat expensive. So I  chose to use papers with patterns that can easily be cut out and used on my cards. That way I have two uses (first on my scrap layouts and secondly cut out on my cards) for my patterned papers!

Hello Spring by Miranda de Bakker Supplies: Paper: Bazzill Basics Paper, BasicGrey, Stamps: Studio G, Punch: McGill, Fiskars, Other: ribbon, paint, flowers, jewels.
