Button Button

Jennifer Wuthrich

While my “poker” face might not have been as good as I would have hoped, I do remember loving it when I had the button. I still can remember the color, size and texture of those buttons from those Sunday afternoons.

While it been a long time since I have played “button, button,” my love of buttons has not changed. I still love the colors, size and textures of buttons and the added interest that they can bring to my cards, layouts and altered items.

There are so many fun uses for buttons on our crafting projects, everything from framing a page to bring a little creature to life. We hope that these layouts will inspire you to reach for the buttons next time you are crafting.

Design notes: I have used these gorgeous mother of pearl buttons as a corner embellishment.  They are balanced by the one button on the little robin in the bottom corner.

The Gap by Karen Messitt. Supplies: Paper: Bazzill Basics Paper, Carolee's Creations, Stickers: Heidi Swapp, Chipboard: Lil Davis Designs, Stamp: Autumn Leaves, Rub-on: Making Memories, Other: ric rac, ribbon, flower, pearls.

Journaling: "Finally!! You have been desperate to lose as tooth for three years - and at 7 and a half - we now have a GAP"

Design notes: The chipboard flowers were cut from a Sizzix die, covered with old phone book paper, and inked on the edges. The buttons are vintage buttons.

A Bloom in Progress by Connie Mercer. Supplies: Paper: Bazzill Basics Paper, October Afternoon, Die Cuts: October Afternoon, Alphas: BasicGrey, Felt Border: Creative Imaginations, Punch: Fiskars, Stitches: Bazzill Basics Paper, Ink: Quick Quotes.

Journaling: Watching you bloom is so much fun. What a happy girl you are and you are always thinking of ways to have more fun. hugs nini.

Design notes: I love using a really great photo in unique ways. For this page, I decided to print the same photo twice in different sizes. I really love how it turned out! I also scalloped the edges of the background paper for added interest.

Adore by Leslie Mozak Supplies: Paper: Core Coordinates, Making Memories, Black Market Society, Rub-ons: My Mind's Eye, Jenni Bowlin, Other: ribbon, buttons.

Journaling: Summer 1999 You are my angel, little boy and I love you so very much!
