Button Button

Jennifer Wuthrich

When I was a child I use to look forward to Sunday afternoons because we would gather together as a family and play games. When our tradition first started, we were too young to sit for a long period of time due to our short attention span, so our parents had to be creative.

One of my favorite “short and sweet” Sunday afternoon games was “button, button” I am sure that most of us remember this game or some form of the game from childhood but the point to the game is to be the one that “gets the button” slipped into your hand and to keep a straight face so that you are not found out.

Design notes: The buttons are all put onto a wire, made into a heart shape and attached to the layout as a "frame" around the picture.

With Love by Gudrun Loennecken. Supplies: Paper: My Mind’s Eye, Other, Die cut: My Mind’s Eye, Stickers: Heidi Grace, Stamp: Stamp Box, Rub-on: Autumn Leaves, Pen: American Crafts, Other: buttons, wire, ribbon.

Journaling: "etter vinter kommer vår" (Norwegian for "winter leaves, spring arrives").  It is all about when the winter is gone spring will always come. Title: "with love, til mamma fra eirun" = "with Love to Mom from Eirun"

Design notes: I folded the paper (at the upper right) to show off the back of the patterned paper. I added a brad with tiny alphas around it to form the ‘sunny’ word. I also inserted a needle into three different ribbons that I had tied earlier and put them onto the sheer tag, and clustered some random buttons.  Then I topped it off with arrow chipboard for dimension.

Ain’t We Look Cool in Spunky Shades? by Zizi Irena Roslan. Supplies: Paper: le shoebox, Making Memories, Chipboard: American Crafts, Heidi Swapp, Fancy Pants, Felt: Making Memories, Brads: Queen and Company, Glitter: Plaid, Ribbon: American Crafts, Other, Rhinestone: Kaiser, Rub-on: Luxe Designs, Stamp: October Afternoon, Tag: Maya Road, Other: buttons

Journaling: Lotus Hotel J getting ready to go to Sogo, KL.

Design notes: I drew the big blue swirl and cut it out, and I used bottle caps and acrylic paint to stamp the circles.

Captured by Aileen Griffiths. Supplies: Paper: Die Cuts With a View, KI Memories, Journaling Overlay: Hambly, Flowers: Prima, Brads: Making Memories, Buttons: Favorite Findings, Letter Stickers: EK Success, Pen: Sakura, Other: paint.

Journaling: Sylvia - looking intently through the binoculars, hoping to spot some whales... (Newport, OR, May 2007).
