The last weekend in March brought the Midwestern
United States a spring snowfall. I will be
extremely happy when we don’t have to worry
about the snow for a while. This month’s
designer does not share my feelings. Her
favorite season is winter and she’s happy
because she’s just heading into the winter
months down under in New Zealand.
Michelle Pieters began scrapping 6 years ago.
It was an activity that she and her husband have
enjoyed together. (How lucky is she?) While
attending an event they came upon a stall
featuring scrapbooking and they were instantly
hooked. Unfortunately, paper scrapping began to
become too big an expense. They had some
friends who were venturing into digital
scrapbooking and talked her into giving it a
try. She no longer paper scraps and has tons of
supplies that sit unused, unless she needs to
make some cards. Sadly, she doesn’t have much
time to create layouts anymore and usually
creates one or two to go with her latest kits.

Design Note:
I love this layout because it
has my adorable husband in it. It was also
very technically difficult for me at the
time. It was based on an advertisement.

Rolling In Leaves by Michelle
Pieters. Supplies:
Adobe Photoshop CS2.
Journaling:
One thing I really love about
you is how willing you are to play and have
fun. Even in your forties you gladly get on
the ground and roll in the leaves. As time
goes by I know our bodies will age and our
eyes will grow weak but I hope you always
stay young at heart.
Editor’s Note:
I like how Michelle used
composite photos. Don’t have the perfect
embellishments? Try using this technique.
In 2006, Michelle began designing digital
scrap booking kits. Unlike other designers
we met she really doesn’t find inspiration
in “things.” She says, “I just make
whatever pops into my mind, sometimes it is
something one of my creative team have
requested or it is for an event or a
holiday coming up. I guess mostly it just
happens!” Typically, she creates one or
two layouts a month. She likes to take her
time and needs to fall in love with the
whole kit before she can release them.

Fresh

Cherry
Chocolate Kisses digital kit by Michelle
Pieters, Font: Confection OT.
Journaling:
Children
come into this world with fresh eyes to see
all that is beautiful, embrace all that is
joyful, and love unconditionally with open
hearts and minds.
Her favorite kit isn’t a kit it’s a set of
elements. My Film Curls was so much
fun to make even though it happened by
accident. They are one of her most popular
and versatile products. Her newest kit is
Cherry Chocolate Kisses. It was created for
Valentine’s Day but is definitely not just
for love themed layouts. This kit started
with the colors. Then she made the papers
followed by the elements. Michelle says, “I
think it is beautiful.”

Michelle says, “I am married to a wonderful man
for over 9 years now and we still love each
other as much as the day we were married.” We
have an intelligent cockatiel and we live in
beautiful New Zealand. Make sure you visit
Michelle's
blog. You can find Michelle’s products
can be found at both
Digitals and
NDISB.
A gift for you from Michelle:
