Katey Green

Welcome to a New Year here at ScrapStreet!  I hope you all had a merry Christmas and are starting the New Year in a happy and scrappy frame of mind.  We are starting the year on a musical note with Musicale by Sue Wood Designs.  Full of musical notes, lush plums and pinks with splashes of green. Our creative team came up with some different ideas for the kit, so let’s see their creations.

Design note: When I saw this beautiful kit I thought about this picture of my daughter that I had just done a few days before. I love how the colors of the kit go with the colors in the picture.  Since this kit is about music I used the Merry Little Christmas word art (by Famous Last Words) from the ScrapStreet Yuletide Whimsy kit, to complete the layout.

Design note:

I duplicated and blended the green floral paper to match the greens of the shrubs in the photo.  I also blended the musical border to get a deeper color and added a quote from a poem by Lord Byron.

Design note:

I changed the photo to black and white and kept the layout very simple to evoke the sounds of silence that you get when concentrating on fishing...nothing else exists for that time!
