Chat Lane

It appears as though those two rascally characters, Bubba Elf and Roxy Reindeer, may have shoved your sweet Hello Kitty just a tad too hard. She has really got her nose bent out
of shape and refuses to come back to Chat Lane. And, of course, those misfits have caused their chaos and mayhem and are now nowhere to be found.
Well, we here in the fairy tale realm have this way of covering for each other, so we all agreed to help out. This month, since I don’t really get started working until February, it was decided that I’d take a turn at the laptop and see what I could do.
Cupid’s the name and lovin’ my game! I can usually be found flitting around shooting arrows and watching some totally unsuspecting humans find themselves attracted to each other. And, I admit, just to amuse myself I sometimes will “accidentally” miss and shoot someone that isn’t quite a good of a match as people would think. Oh, darn, wait, I digress. I’m supposed to be writing about the happenings on ScrapStreet during the month of December.
The month got off to a somewhat slow start with at least one little kitty, who shall remain nameless, curling herself up and hiding under covers for a week or so. While others anxiously awaited the arrival of their “Secret Santa” boxes.
And once those boxes started to arrive, the boards started to fly as fast as the wrapping paper! My, oh my, what lovely goodies were tucked into those boxes! Candies, cookies, fun scrappy supplies and some wonderfully awesome homemade gifts were discovered. Family and friends were certainly not forgotten. Hum, I wonder how I could get my hands on a fabulously quilted table topper, or a cute little treat jar, or even one of those to-die-for mini albums. Where are those two jokers from last month, I want in on that game next year!
The weather has certainly made its change with the season. The gals in the upper most part of the US, somewhere called International Falls reported an astounding amount of snow and proved it by sharing pictures of the piles in the middle of the roads up there! Poor pooches do what is called “snow swimming” up there. At least they looked like they were having fun. But, it’s certainly nothing I want to try! Brrrrr ….
So, I think I can trust you all and admit that I accidentally did something I wasn’t supposed to do. While sharpening some of my arrows and tightening up my bow, I got off a shot or two or three. Seems to be an awful lot of stress going on right now. Whether it’s stress caused by illness, by uncertain employment status, or managing a long-distance marriage, the girls at
ScrapStreet certainly deserve a little stress relief. So, who am I not to oblige! I helped make it possible for a few of my favorite ladies get to spend some quality adult time with the loves of their lives. Ha! Not a bad shot, I must admit! Those arrows hit the mark for sure! Wait, darn it! I wasn’t supposed to admit that I did it on purpose! Drat! Anyway, I don’t think anybody will be complaining.
Dora got up to her silly rhymes and riddles again by putting up a “12 Days of Christmas” game. Everyday a new rhyme or riddle was posted. Once figured out, they led to a different challenge. The challenges included scrapping, posting,
Googling and just doing something special for ourselves! Sometimes just being able to figure out the darn puzzle was prize enough! Dora is one tough riddler! I wonder if she’s been tutored by Batman’s nemesis?
)Have you seen that guy, he’s pretty creepy if you ask me!)
And as the Christmas holiday became the center of attention, family and friends gathered together for a totally amusing assortment of parties, dinners and surprise appearances. Let me tell you, these gals have really amusing family trees! The stories that these gals told can only be fully appreciated if you check them out for yourself.
Facebook has become the hot, new trend on the Streets. Do you have one? This little dude doesn’t yet, but from the shenanigans that the ScrapStreet gals are going through I think I’m gonna get one! Now, I just need to have somebody show me how! Yikes!
Not real sure how to wrap up 2008,
'cuz I’ve only been watching these gals for a while really. It has been a riot though, and I’m sure I’ll be watching them in the months to come!
Welcome 2009 and all the blessings it may hold!
