A big "Thank You" to all who entered the Street Maps sketch contest and sent in some very creative layouts and cards. I love to see my creations come to life. Each layout and card was a personal interpretation of what the artist saw in the sketch, bringing their creativity and artistic ablities to life as well.
Notice how Janneke kept the design very clean and used a few more circles to add interest to the page. Vanessa had angled the design to give it a little more energy, and used a felt border as the embellishment instead of the border punches. Great choice!

Button Sketch by Michelle McClung
Digital Supplies: Spring Fever Kit by Crystal Wilkerson (Two Peas in a Bucket), Software: Adobe Photoshop Elements, Fonts: Sybilgreen, Prestige, Other: flourish.
Design Notes: I just love circles! I was able to get a bunch of pictures on this sketch, while still leaving room for some white space. I used buttons and an invisible diagonal to draw your eye though the layout.

Red Rock Casino by Janneke Smit
Supplies: Papers, Die-Cuts, Alphabet Stickers: Crate Paper, Pen: ZIG, Pencil: Around the Block, Tool: sanding paper (3M).
Design Notes: Since this sketch has several smaller photos on it, it was perfect for some - not so good – snapshots I still wanted to document in my scrapbook. Using papers, die-cuts and stickers from the same line, together with a sketch, makes for an quick and easy scrapbook page. To create the border around the page I simply drew a border with a pen, and colored it in with colored pencil. I also used a pen and sanding paper to outline the large circle.

Border Punch Sketch by Michelle McClung
Digital Supplies: Borders: Coffee Shop Borders (Coffee Tea Photography Blog), Journaling Spot: All U Need Kit by Meredith Fenwick (Two Peas in a Bucket), Software: Adobe Photoshop Elements, Fonts: Succotash, Tempus.
Design Notes: Border punches are so hot right now! I love them and seem to have collected MANY! Make use of your border punches on this layout; one kind or all you've got. If you happen not to have any, try thinking outside the box: ribbon, cardstock stickers, decorative scissors, etc ...
Hugs by Vanessa Menguita-Gutierrez
Supplies: Papers: Prima Marketing, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Felt Hearts: All About Scrapbooking, Ink : Ranger, Metal Stamp, Stickers: Making Memories, Adhesive: xPress It.
Design Notes: I did some distressing on my page and inked the side of it. I also cut the heart shimmer sticker in half to serve as the wings/enclosure to my title {Hugs}.
Journaling: You're the reason I believe in love, and you're the answer to my prayers from up above. I love you. |
