Like every holiday, this one, too, shall pass and once it has ended, the roses have wilted and the chocolates have all been, eaten how many of us will also put away or forget about the people or things that we love?

Hopefully we will never forget about the people we love, I mean how bare will our scrapbooks look if we did that!  But often we do forget about the supplies that we love.  Trends do change and we do tend to change and be changed by them, but I want to challenge you this year to not forget to use the things you love on your pages, cards and altered art.

In a sense, I want to challenge you to set your own trends this year by reaching for the products that just down right make you smile and you don’t want to create without.  Add a few new twist to those products, but overall stick to what you love!

We asked our readers to submit things that they couldn’t scrap without and while their lists are all very different…their projects are just beautiful!  I hope this inspires you to reach for what you love the next time you sit down to create.

Design notes:My favorite items, that show up on every layout I create, would be chalk ink and die cut letters.  I love chalk ink because I love how this gives depth to my layouts and helps to pop elements off the page.  With die cut letters, I love how you can mix and match fonts and how you always have the right color to match every layout.

What a view by Karen Shand. Supplies: Paper: Creative Imaginations, Bazzill Basics Paper, Adhesive: Helmar, Die Cut Letters: Cuttlebug Red Tag, Ink: Clearsnap, Font: Arial Narrow, Other: beads.

Design notes:The HOT new products I LOVE to work with are acrylic and lace paper. The combination makes a HUGE impact. Acrylic is an invaluable medium because of the ability to add layers and lace paper maximizes this effect. The two products together make for endless possibilities.

First Time Flower Girls by Andrea Venn.  Supplies: Paper: BasicGrey, KI Memories, Butterfly: Heidi Swapp, Flowers: Prima, Album: Kits 2 Remember, Wire: Bind-It-All.

Journaling: Finally Flower Girls, Rose Creek Cottage Pacific Beach California, Perfect Day, Aunt Lydia Brides Maid, Annie and Nick Wellmen.

Design notes: As hard as I try to be a simple scrapper, I just can't keep myself from adding lots of layers and piling on the embellishments. I love, and can't seem to scrap without, my brown ink, edge distresser and some flowers, lace or ribbon and staples. These things tend to find their way onto just about every one of my layouts.

Angels Among Us by Becky Williams.  Supplies: Paper: BasicGrey, Crate Paper, Imaginisce, Making Memories, Stickers: Making Memories, American Crafts, Rub-ons: My Mind’s Eye, Crate Paper, Flower: American Crafts, Punches: Fiskars, Stamp: Scarlet Lime, Other: trims, pearls, stitching.

Journaling: I believe there are angels among us, sent down to us in our time of need. They come to you and me in our darkest hours, to show us how to live, teach us how to give, and guide us with the light of love. Aimee is my little angel. October 2008, 11 months.
