Chic Street

Jennifer Wuthrich

February is a month that reminds us to embrace the things that we love.  Most of us will spend the first part of the month creating Valentine cards, layouts, and altering everything that doesn’t move in honor of those “special sweeties” in our lives.

Some of us will also feel the loom of the holiday and the onset of stress, thinking and wondering if someone will remember us or shell out extreme amounts of dollars for those coveted Valentine roses or the designer handcrafted chocolates.

Design notes: To create the "grunge" look I used lots of inking along with the edge distresser. I created stars from chipboard. I inked the white chipboard letters.  I can not live with out my Tim Holtz distressing ink pad and my Heidi Swapp edge distresser! They are both a MUST on every layout I create. It has really helped me create my style.

Backseat Rockstar by Richelle Saldana. Supplies: Paper: Scenic Route, Paint: Heidi Swapp, Ink: Ranger, Chipboard Letters: Heidi Swapp, Rub-ons: Creative Imaginations, Chalk pencils: General’s, Tool: edge distresser.

Design notes: I used this doily to mimic the curve of my large, pregnant belly. It served the other purpose of calling attention to my son. I ran out of "A" letters, so I improvised with a "V" and a brad.

Ready by Jennifer Armentrout. Supplies: Paper:  My Mind’s Eye, Bazzill Basics Paper, Brads: SEI, Flowers: Prima, Chipboard: Heidi Swapp, Paint: Making Memories, Pen: Sakura, Scissors: Fiskars, Other: doily.

Journaling: We are so ready for you, Ben. The room is ready. Clothes are put away. Eric has been practicing with his doll. Come out & play!

Design notes: I recently discovered NEW "love" stamps.  Unity Stamps has a wonderful selection of stamps and on this layout I choose to use one of their great background stamps.  At first glance you don't even realize it's a stamp, and it just looks like another great piece of patterned paper! Stamps are great, they can be used on cardstock and patterned papers alike, and with so many different colors of ink! When using stamps you have so many different possibilities for your products!

3 Reasons to LOVE Each Day by Reneé Morris-Dezember.
