Card Corner

Jennifer Keefer

Red.  Pink.  White.  I began seeing these colors in the stores before all the Christmas goodies were packed up and sent on.  I couldn't believe it!  At the same time, I have to admit, I got excited!  Valentine's Day has really grown on me over the years.  I don't know why, it just did.  My husband and I don't do anything big to celebrate.  We usually exchange cards and candy or something along those lines and call it done.  Perhaps it is because I have my little Valentines to share the day with me.  My heart melts at the fact I was my both of my sons' first Valentine.  This year I have a new Valentine, my daughter.  I feel special having four Valentines all to myself!

Design notes: I don't have any fancy items to cut circles; I just use what ever round shape I have available. In this case I used any empty tape roll. Add foam tape to create depth in the flowers and butterflies.

Roses are Red by Miranda de Bakker.  Supplies: Paper: BasicGrey, Bazzill Basics Paper, Punches: McGill, Mireille, Ink: Tsukineko, Other: ribbon, pin, staples, decorative scissors, pen.

Editor's Note:  What a fun mix of patterned papers!  Miranda switched things up a bit by using the butterflies as the center of the flower, layering them and adding a few foam dots for additional depth.

Editor's Note: I like the use of the large flower.  The tag makes a great center and the smaller flowers around are a nice added touch.

I Adore You by Heather Bares.  Supplies: Paper: Creative Imaginations, Bling: Me and My Big Ideas, Flowers: Heidi Swapp, Prima, Tag Rim: Making Memories, Rub-ons: Making Memories, Acrylic: KI Memories, Ink: Tsukineko.

Design notes: I handcut the heart and the corners from a sheet of  pink felt and attached them with pink craft thread to add some soft texture to  this card.

Be Mine by Dee Gallimore-Perry.  Supplies: Papers: American Crafts, BoBunny, Chipboard: American Crafts, Sticker: 7Gypsies, Brads, Staple: BoBunny, Thread: DMC, Other: sandpaper, felt.

Editor's Notes:  I love that Dee used non-traditional colors for her Valentine's Card.
