Cupid’s Arrow

   Lindsey Krauss

Whoever said pointing wasn’t nice might not have ever been in love! Here, for the month of February, we thought we’d get straight to it – straight to where the arrow leads. That’s right: the arrow, now a staple scrapbooking embellishment, is leading our eyes and hearts to the ones we love. Whatever the mood might be (Lynda’s family is warm and homey, Jennifer’s going nostalgic, and just take a look at Penny’s little one - well, he has seen happier moments). However, somehow the arrow works and makes that moment extra special.

Design notes: I kept the chipboard "naked" for most of this layout, dressing up only two pieces with trim and buttons only. I mounted my camera on my tripod and positioned everyone underneath it, pushed the timer button and slid into place quickly!!!

My Favorite Place On Earth by Lynda Lindley. Supplies: Paper: My Mind's Eye, Chipboard: Maya Road, Basic Grey, Ribbon: May Arts, Cardstock: Close To My Heart, Font: Quickutz, Other: buttons.

Journaling: (hidden under the chipboard heart:) I would not wish to be anywhere but right here with my family.

Design notes: I did this layout to compare my little sister Julie and my son Ben, who remind me so much of each other as kids. The vast majority of this layout was made with one sheet of punch-out die cuts. I made the flower and circle rings by cutting away the "extra" color around the die-cut shapes. No waste here!

2 Peas In a Pod by Jennifer Armentrout. Supplies: Paper, Die cuts, Stickers, Chipboard: Scenic Route, Pen: Sakura, Other: buttons, embroidery floss.

Journaling: Both kids are second born and true to birth order stereotypes - messier, wilder, more likely to jump off a roof. Both kids are serious tow heads with blue eyes and pouty lips. They have chubby cheeks and a small clef chin. Both kids are fun-loving, quick to laugh, silly, and a bit mischievous. Love 'em both.

Design notes: I used a hot foil pen to create the shiny gold stars on this layout. I hand cut the arrows from patterned paper and then dotted around the title letters to mimic that look.

Freak Out! by Penny Brellenthin. Supplies: Paper: Jenni Bowlin, Prima, Cardstock: Prism, Prima, Hot Foil Pen, Foil and Template: Staedtler, Alphabet Die Cuts: Tinkering Ink, Acrylic Paint: Making Memories, Marker: Zig, Stickers: Creative Imaginations, Adhesive: Ad Tech, Elmer's.

Journaling: Sometimes all you can do is laugh... and then laugh some more.
